What's going on with Kitna! (1 Viewer)

Dude's killing me. Did anyoen see the game? Was it just good defenses or is somethign really wrong with the Lion's passing game?

Sigh...maybey time to bench him in favor of Favre or Griese.

3 weeks ago vs WAS... good defense

Last week vs TB Kitna played great... but DET decided to run the ball down TBs throats.

I am liking Kitna this week against the banged up Bears secondary. Roy Williams seems to do well against Chicago and Chicago has NO answer for Calvin......

From what I saw, Kitna was not getting ANY time to throw against TB - they sacked him 3 times (he only attempted 20 passes) and I don't have a count of how many hurries they had, but I bet it was quite a few. So, he had a good completion rate, but most of them were dumpoffs because he wasn't getting time to let the WRs run any downfield patterns...

Just another up and down statline for the rest of the year. Some weeks up, some weeks down. I thought Kitna was going to be the QB steal of the year, but no more.

O'Sullivan time! ;)
Looks like into you're verbal diahrea. Of course, let's bench a QB who has lead you to a 4-2 record, was instrumental in wins against two of the best DEF in the league where one of them is last year's Super Bowl contender and proven that he can forego his ego as well as his arm to beat another tough DEF by establishing a running game. Right, Marinelli and Martz will definetely start O'Sullivan because some d-o-u-c-h-e-b-a-g on a football message board says so. How about you come up with an explanation why it's O'Sullivan instead of blurting whatever brain fart your little skull exodes? These message boards are getting polluted with ####### more and more. As a paying customer to the content of Footballguys, I think I will participate in the site's request to report junk posts that are irrevelant or are not posted in their proper field. And I'll start with my own here to the mods just to make a point.... But if they take out mine, they also have to take out this P.O.S. post also.

The Lions only had the ball for 24 minutes, and only ran 47 plays the entire game. Kitna was 16-20 passing. He played a great game, but it didn't translate to good fantasy numbers.

I dropped him this week and picked up Big Ben. No one in my league of 10 has picked him up.

The last 2 games he played it looked like his O line was 3rd graders playing in the NFL. Maybe it will get better but no QB can throw the ball on his back. I went into the season thinking i had stole a great QB in the late rounds. His schedule the next few weeks is brutal.....

I assume you play in a league with shallow benches but ultimately I agree with this. I traded away Big Ben and wish I had traded away Kitna instead.

Me too.

Theyre winning so its hard to complain about Kitna without sounding foolish but its amazing he hasnt thrown a TD in the last 3 games. I wouldve never guessed this.

Same hereI am going to have to start playing Schaub... GDB.. than again I might be able to just delete that bookmark in another week or two

Kevin Jones makes this team SO much better. It slightly downgrades Kitna imo, but it makes their team much more formidable.

:goodposting: This balanced attack is making things much easier on Kitna and the defense.

Really hard to complain when he hasnt thrown an int in 2 weeks either. The guy is taking care of the ball and Detroit is winning games. I'm not a fan but i have to respect how much this team has improved in all facets. Kitna should have some more big games as teams decide to put the 8th man back in the box to stop Jones. Playaction should be outstanding down the road. Ultimately this could help Kitna's numbers, I dont think he was going to be successful forever in that pass only offense. He'd get hurt or turn the ball over one too many times.
