Whats going on with Santana Moss? (1 Viewer)

I think he is a great buy low canidate right now - waiver wire - I would pick him up. However I would also have a very short leash with him. If he does not get things turned around soon he should go right back to the wire.

Whats up with him?

Well he started off he season very pedestrian. 3 for28, 6 for 89, and 3 for 82. What was lost in those numbers is the fact that Campbell started out the seson slow and over threw Moss the 2nd game of the year on a 50+ yard bomb that would have been an easy TD. If he connects on that throw he is a top 25 WR the first 3 weeks of the season.

In the 3rd game - after already having 89 yards he got hurt late. A Groin injury - at the time it looked really bad. He had two weeks to come back from that (bye week and missed the game against Detroit). Supposedly he was a game time decision in the game against Detroit. He wanted to play but they sat him just to be safe.

Last week he came back and played against Green Bay. It was raining the whole day making the footing very tough and I guess if you have a hurt groin - it probably makes it a tough environment to play hurt. Well he played and probably had his worst game of his career. Not only did not have any catches - but he probably cost the Redskins a game. He dropped a few balls, tipped one that would be interceped, fumbled an end around that would be picked up and returned for the game winning TD. Then later in the game he was open on a long pass down the sideline - he was not able to adjust to the ball and it hit him in the face and hands. After that play I believe he benched himself.

I would like to think he breaks out this weekend. I am hoping for 100+ yards and maybe a score. But if he puts up another dud - well he may deserve to be on the waiver wire.

I say he is a buy low player right now. Great sleeper for this weekend. As Jason Campbell continues to improve - I would have to think that Moss will see some benifit and could be a nice gem down the stretch this season.

Pick him up!

nice thoughts jesse.

i have santana in 1 lg as well and i am scared to play him and scared no to play him--- ya know?!

I think he deserves a spot in the roster over someone like curtis & evans & ward (or 2 of them i mean). i would like to hear what people that follow the skins are saying. did campbell lose confidence in him? how bout saunders & gibbs? or do they love him and will they force feed him the rock?

"I would pick him up. However I would also have a very short leash with him. "

My problem is that my bench is tight but all that said I would easily choose to hold Moss ovver a B.Leonard. When it comes to a Selvin Young I would look at other variables.

Santana Moss sucks donkey penis! As soon as you sit the guy, he'll go off. But put him in your lineup and he gets -2!!!

Seriously though, he's bad! Anyone who thinks he'll go for 100+ and a TD is a desperate owner who doesn't know how to admit he sucks.

bitter about something War Eagle?

I'm considering the buy S Moss low theory - hoping he can get it together in the 2nd half of the season. Mainly b/c WAS is playing well and has enough of a D to be a factor in the playoff hunt this year. Campbell is developing and the run game is struggling to a certain extent. WAS schedule isn't great, but that *should* mean they'll be passing more vs. running clocks out late.

Give Chambers, get Moss as a WR4. Neither guy is exactly tearing it up thus far, though Chambers may improve in SD, but I'm not sold there either.

Hey War Eagle - for what it is worth I think that guy on LSU got away with a push off. Auburn should have pulled it out - plus there was that horrible spot that gave LSU the 1st down on that same drive.

LOL!I was just thinking "well that's not very nice",... in a humorous tone of course.

Mods surely you'll edit or delete this post...

I just traded Santana for Hines Ward. I loved the trade. Santana has talent, but he is a 2 point or 33 point a game player... Hard to deal with if you need steady production.

He's an ideal FF WR3 if you start 3 in your league because you don't want to rely upon him every week to be a producer due to his inconsistency, but you also want to be in a position to catch some big games from him.

I like him in the second half. Campbell is doing nothing but improving, and that team is begging for a WR to step up and take charge. Moss is the closest thing they have to a legit NFL WR1. He has a lot of pride and I think he's going to do everything he can to bounce back from that debacle in Green Bay.

Buy low.

I agree. I think we start to see the turnaround this week.

Never rely on a deep threat receiver unless you have to. They are too unreliable. Think about guys like Moss, Stallworth and Lee Evans. They may get 250 yards one week but they'll have 20 for the next three.

the longer he performs like this, the more campbell and randel el build a rapport. i had moss on my team up until this week. Only have 4 bench spots and i need a bye week fill in, so i dropped him. I think he will get back into the swing of things. However, im not expecting big or consistent fantasy numbers.

I think Moss owners would take that 20yds/week right about now. Would at least wash out his -2 pt fumbles.

Yea, it should have been our game, but I blame it on the last kickoff. I understand not wanting to kick it to the LSU speedsters, but to give it to them at the 42 was stupid!!!That WAS a HORRIBLE spot!

Damn right! Moss hasn't played to his ability at all this year. He is killing the Redskins and my fantasy squad. Last week was the worst game I have ever seen out of a supposed "#1 top tier WR"! If he wants to talk about being from the "U" and being such a great WR then he should learn how to catch! That performance by Moss last week was practice squad material!

Not a Santana owner, but a Randle-El owner. One big caution on both them and Cooley right now: Skins OL is in dire straits. Injuries everywhere. They have been pulling guys up from their PS. Campbell could be running for his life for a few weeks until they solidify the line. I benched Randle-El in favor of Burlesom today because of it. I'm sure that means Randle-El will go off. Oh well.

The o-line is definitely not what they'd hoped to start the season, but you're overstating the problems. RT Todd Wade is starting today. C Rabach was downgraded to Questionable and will be a game time decision. If he doesn't go then veteran Mike Pucillo will start in his place. The guy they promoted from the PS will be backing up today. Bottom line: if Rabach can't go then there's only one new starter from last week, and Rabach figures to return next week even then.

Redskins WRs Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle El vs. Cardinals CBs Rod Hood and Eric Green. Moss is out to make up for his awful game (two drops, a fumble, no catches) last Sunday while Randle El is looking to score after being tackled four times inside the 5 this season. Hood and Green aren't a good matchup for Arizona, especially with SS Adrian Wilson hurting. :)

Why? Does the word penis offend you? Maybe you should grow a pair PantherPower! :excited:
Your parents should limit your internet access.... :lmao:
 I think it has more to do w/ the oral gratification of a farm animal take, than the word itself. Don't pee or use this kind of material in the pool or be branded a tool. I'm sure you could have expressed your thoughts in another way.
What is this, a battle of the hoity toity goodie goodies? Have neither of you any sense of humor? Sorry, let me button my shirt up all the way, tuck it in, stand up straight, shove a bug in my bum (sorry if the phrase "bug up your butt" is offensive to you, but this is a common phrase to describe someone who is entirely too uptight) and respond for you two nancy boys (that doesn't imply gayness, just wussiness).Santana Moss is struggling! He has hands of stone and butter simultaneously. I'm sure though, he is a really good guy in the inside and means well, but his play on the football field has been pathetic. Anyone who truely believes that Santana will go off this week is one of three things:1. On drugs (drugs are bad, this is not funny. Kids please do not take drugs! Stay in school)2. A fantasy owner who is in denial3. A Redskins homerPS. Get off your soap box now or I will knock you off! Thanks!

:lmao: Campbell has better chemistry with Randle El due to Moss' injury problems in the last 12 months and more reps with ARE during that time, however I have no doubt that the team is going to do everything it can to get Moss on track in this game.
