Even though during my last 7 day fast I cut WAY down... I still drink 1 cup of coffee and one Dr Pepper Zero per day. Voted yes.

Coffee every morning. Used to be 2 x day energy drinks until I had afib back in 2017 and needed ablation surgery. Doc said to cut the energy drinks and switch to coffee.

Coffee also helps me poop, so if I gave up my coffee, I would likely be constipated.

I voted no.

I quit drinking coffee a few years ago and switched to green tea, no sugar. It has a much lower caffeine content and doesn't trigger heartburn for me.

I usually only drink tea 4-5 days a week.

Yes, I have two cups of coffee a day and used to add one can coke.

To describe it quickly, if I don't have any coffee in a day I will not be a functioning person due to the headaches and lack of energy. If I only have one cup of coffee I will be able to function, but no one will want to be around me. Once I have 2 cups I am delightful.

1 or 2 cups of day max, so I'm a moderate addict I guess. Need some sort of caffeine though or I will probably get a headache.

I drink multiple coffees a day. But not addicted. I've traveled and don't ever feel the need that I have to have it and can go days without and not have a problem.

I had to vote no because of the headache/addiction part. I love coffee and drink about a pot a day, but nothing bad happens to me if I have a busy morning and skip it.

One big ice coffee each morning, make it myself so it's not as strong as say starbucks and don't really feel the effect too much. i don't feel physically addicted so I said no although i think am somewhat psychologically addicted as really need it as part of the start to my day.

Do you consume caffeine daily for the energy or to avoid headaches? Any kind... coffee, tea, soft drinks, energy drinks, etc.
I voted no. I read the comments so far and decided to explain a little on this one. I vote in all of them unless they slip by me.

I like a good cup of black coffee any time of day. I keep a variety of energy drinks in my garage fridge (no sugar low cal types). I keep a bottle of caffeine pills in the center consoles of two vehicles. Hate driving and nodding. I just bought some black tea that has extra caffeine. I add caffeine to homemade smoothies and juices. I voted no because I go days, even weeks sometimes, without caffeine. I don't experience these headaches others do. If I'm very busy or the insomnia has me zombie-like, caffeine it is. I vacationed most of July - no caffeine for almost a month. No headaches, no cravings, no problem.

I did not think I was until we had no coffee at a cabin we were staying at up north. I drove 20 minutes to a gas station to get two to go.

I like 2-3 cups of coffee as soon as I get up. None rest of the day, no energy drinks.

Don't drink coffee, ever, but I do start the day (if it's a work day) with a Coke Zero or Dr. Pepper Zero for the caffeine. Don't do it on weekends, and I don't get headaches if I skip it, but still do it pretty much 5 days a week so voted yes.

I have never had a coffee. I have tasted it and it is terrible so it's not something I ever want. I also can drink a soda right before bed and go right to sleep. Caffeine isn't something that really affects me in that way.

I drink soda and probably average one a day even if I don't necessarily have one every day. If I go a few days without one I don't have any adverse reactions so I voted no.

I drink a lot of coffee. Working overnights makes it a necessity, too. But, I've always loved coffee. I drink usually 5-10 cups per day. Black and strong. like my men.

Love my coffee in the morning but it’s not a huge deal if we’re out. Black, 1 sugar.

Maybe about 6-10 times a year I’ll have a hot tea. 1/2 & 1/2 with sugar. A few graham crackers if I’m being a total glutton.

Voted Yes.

I drink coffee maybe 2x a month, usually on Tuesdays when I work from home. I drink an energy drink 1-2x a week, probably not good for me. Will mix in the occasional hot chocolate or iced coffee from SBUX too.

Not really sure how to answer. I typically have a coffee as part of my morning routine but also regularly miss it and don't get headaches or anything like that. I wouldn't say I "need" it by any means. Just like the routine of sipping on it while I wake up, and I like the taste.

Will sometimes have a cup of coffee or energy drink during the day for an energy boost if I have a lot of work to get through or a long drive.

So I have a coffee most days, but can easily go without it. Not sure if that qualifies as "addicted" or not.

very similar- love coffee, I make two cappuccinos a day,, but caffeine never gave me the lift it gives others.

I like the taste but it makes me :poop:
 Which is a reason I drink it!

I used to drink most of a pot each day. We just switched to a kuerig and only drink two a day now. I also cut out creamer when we switched.
When I drive long, I fill up my 32oz bucees cup (and take an equal sized water). That lasts me most of the day.

I said yes, but I can quit any time I want to. But I don’t want to!

I drink 16-24 ounces a day of cold brew mostly. Mostly just in the morning. I would say I'm probably addicted as I do it as part of my morning routine but I've never tried to forgo it to see if I get headaches etc.

Can I be addicted to coffee without having an addiction to caffeine? I drink black coffee every morning, then shut it down. No other caffeine during the day. Caffeine does absolutely nothing to me. I could drink a cup and take a nap. But I start my day with a hot cup of black coffee and just consider it a part of my day.

I wouldn't say addicted....In love with, enthralled with, thrilled by that rush sensation first thing in the morning...the snap back to attention in the afternoon, followed by let's get this party started after work feeling that caffeine brings me each day. I hate coffee and tea (dirty water), might as well add Red Bull and Monster to that list. I'll have a Kick Start in the morning, maybe another after lunch, followed by a Mt Dew Zero at night. At one point I was going hard with it all (up to 8 bottles/day). But I've managed to bring it back to at minimum 2, but average about 3.
I've been on the stuff since I was 10, and don't remember a time without some form of caffeine in my life. I don't typically get the headaches from separation. But I am prone to regular migraines every 3-5 weeks that last about 2-3 days. It's not from dropping caffeine, and taking in any extra doesn't help either. I've cut caffeine from my diet before and didn't like who I was, how I felt. That's when I dropped my intake some and found a more moderate level to live with as I get older. I'm sure the doctors will want me to stop, but I've been practicing my "Not until you pry it from my COLD, DEAD, HANDS!!" speech.

Brah... you are addicted.

No
Never acquired the taste for coffee
Gave up all soft drinks 16 years ago
I'll drink tea maybe 2x/week, and half the time it's caffiene-free
Most of the caffine I get is from chocolate. I won't claim to be not addicted to chocolate, but it's not for the caffeine.

I've already done exactly this. My GP is just a PA. When she tasked me to give up caffeine to help with my insomnia, I gave cold dead hands thing. :)

I also showed her this from John Hopkins. The research supporting those claims is pretty strong and in some of the studies where decaf was compared to regular, the health benefits were greatly weakened or gone. Caffeine is health food. :)

Also doctors do not like google experts.

Yes. I can't see a situation where I give up coffee. I wake up sore and cranky until I've had 2 cups.

Pretty sure most of coffee’s healthfulness isn't’ the caffeine.

Drink 4 to 6 cups of black coffee a day during my commute and at work. Some weekend days I just forget to make it.

Will also go 3-5 days without if camping of something.

ETA: I didn't start drinking coffee until I was 40. Very few of my friends (even older ones) drink coffee.

I love coffee but I just like coffee- the smell, flavor, process, etc. I reduced to half caff and then probably 1/3 caff a few years ago and don't miss a thing. Days when I decide to skip it, I don't lack energy or get a headache or anything.

My drug of choice is Coke Zero (though I may actually prefer Dr Pepper Zero, just not as available). At work we calculated how much I drink per day, and it was shocking. Depending on how many refills I get per day, it is between 4-5 Liters. That sounds like a lot but you can get there pretty quickly.

A coke addict walks into a room full of coffee addicts...there's a joke somewhere.

I voted yes even though I'm probably not. I do enjoy my mountain dews and coke a colas. In the past year or 2 I've tried cutting back. Sometimes I'll break down and buy a 12-pack and have like 1 or 2 a day but there's been many times I've gone 4-5 without one. Sometimes I get a headache and I feel better after a soda. I don't know if the lack of caffeine causes the headache or if the caffeine just helps. I generally avoid diets since I don't really like the aftertaste.

Voted no.
Have green tea 3-5 times a week (@ work). Average a black tea <1 time a week (if going out for breakfast).

Never desired coffee. Thought of it as something for adults.

Back in the day I would have 2 diet cokes to get through school. When I stopped I got headaches for a couple weeks.

Weaned myself down to about a half cup a day. Sometimes I'll sub a half coke. Stuff just messes up my gut if I go past that.
