Never had either. Have done multiple full body massages where they do rub my hands and feet, but never a manicure or pedicure.

My feet are getting pretty gnarly. 30+ years of running and cutting for basketball and football as a player and ref has taken its toll. I've always had lots of callouses, but now there are some odd toenail issues. I do shave the hair off the top during the summer so I don't look like a hobbit, but never had anyone else mess with my toes.

I've never given a crap about my hands enough to do a manicure.

Pedicures are awesome. At age 47 I had never gotten one. Now at 54, I get one once a month. I play a ton of sports ... tennis, golf, pickle, basketball. It's good for getting rid of dead skin, keeping away the ingrown toenails, and to a lesser extent fighting athletes foot. It's only $38 with tip at a place near me. Takes about 45 mins. It's better value for the money than a massage. I had one manicure - that was a waste of time.

Going for my first pedicure tomorrow. Many many years overdue. I have runner's feet and always have. Mom took me to skin specialists (part acne, but primarily just dry hands/feet) when I was a teenager, but little benefit resulted. Haven't done much to manage them since - pretty much just aquafor. But recently I think back/hip problems are partially sourced from my feet. I know other issues are playing larger roles, but given how much Oofos have helped mitigate I now know my feet are contributing as well so I'm trying to address that long neglected problem to keep me moving.

But anyway, what should I expect? I have some pretty nasty nails. Some are fine, but others have some fairly significant build up between the nail and toe. Two of them don't even really look like nails anymore. One of the reasons I'm delayed this as long as I have is because I didn't want to subject someone to them, but my massage therapist convinced me that if she's seen worse and dealt with them in her line of work she can only imagine what they deal with. So go do it.

I put no as it is not regular but will go with my daughters to get a pedicure every once in awhile. Would say once or twice a year. They love going with me so good father daughter bonding time and honestly my feet get gross so they could use it once in awhile.

Actually not a bad experience overall and they cleanup my nails and awful calluses. I would recommend to others to give it a try. Last time I went the asian lady who had to deal with my awful feet told my wife that she gave her husband "new feet". Actually a pretty close description.

They have seen far worse than your toenails, I'm sure. I had one big toe that was on its way to ingrown, and she dug in and started clipping. I yelped and she looked at me and said "That hurt?" I said a little and she said "Not long" and just launched back in. They've seen it all and don't seem bothered.

never have, never will
my wife either, she would rather spend her money on clothes
massages are great though

I have had two in my life, so not regularly. The second was last week actually. Took the woman I just started dating and we both got one. Was pretty relaxing. Does help clean up some nails and dead skin from playing soccer.

No polish for me.

Just got my first pedicure a couple weeks ago. Very enjoyable. Will add to regular self-care routine, probably every 4-6 weeks.

Just keeping score

FBGs...96.7% gently return their shopping carts either to a corral or all the way to the door and wait for a sweet little old lady to hand the cart over on their way into the store
FBGs...Can handle grocery carts but just can't handle getting their nails cleaned, clipped and polished, 90% of them just walk around with fungus build up under the nails

MoP is not in the majority in either of these What's Normal, would love to know anyone else that voted the same way on both
But again they return their shopping carts

I didn't realize that the reasoning behind not returning your cart was due to the worry of breaking a nail.

Truth be Told...

-Normally just do them myself, BUT at least 2-3x a year and especially for big events, like to have my nails buffed and polished
Also for many involved in sports, be it running, tennis or golf, you don't want toe nails taking up toe box space in your shoes, causes a lot of problem, get 'em clipped
I can't believe so few folks that have privileged lives in here don't participate in manicures or pedicures for any numerous reasons/events.

We're going to get to he bottom of these shopping carts eventually, I plan on signing off with a reference about them for quite a while

-Tonight at Publix when I was In/Out quickly but I scanned the parking lot to see "Corral Carts" vs ones just random
2 in the Corral and 3 just flung anywhere in the parking lot...40% and we have 96.7% here at FBG that take the extra care to return their shopping carts to their proper destination
I gently lifted my 3 plastic bags from my cart and left the cart right in the middle of the entrance for someone to trip over on their way into the store

MoP is a huge @TheAristocrat fan, A+ joke/post
Cheers!

My nails are in good shape. Even on my toes. I can still clip my own toe nails. I’m cheap. I see no reason to pay someone to do something that takes less than a minute. I’ve also cut my own hair for the last 25+ years. #1 all the way around.

Pedicure isn't just clipping nails. They give you a soak, foot scrub, exfoliation, moisturizer, and do some weird thing where they punch you in the foot a couple times. It takes about 30 minutes.

I get that. Just doesn’t appeal to me. My feet are in good shape. Surprisingly. Given that I’ve worked on my feet forever

Mine also does a calf massage with hot lava rocks (the she microwaves  ). Got an appointment Friday.

Hmm, maybe I'll take my 13-year old daughter to get 'em done. Need to figure out some good dad/daughter bonding experiences.

My 15 year old got mad when I told her I got a pedicure without her. She wants me to take her. I have a feeling this will be a good "dad/daughter bonding experience".

My twin daughters are 12 so would think it would be great with your 13 year old.
