I think if you added up all the coffee AND tea I've consumed in my life it wouldn't fill one coffee cup.

In fact, when my wife drinks either it's like anti-Viagra.

 :coffee:
we got a keurig this summer and I cut back from almost a pot a day to 2 or 3 cups.

About a pot a day, yes. That's on weekdays though, when I'm in the office. I drink significantly less on the weekends because I'm not sitting around quite so much.

I stopped drinking soda over a year ago. Replaced it with iced coffee in which I add about 25% flavored creamer. Not sure its even a step in the right direction. :ponder:
ETA: Never drank coffee in my life before this.

If im in the office
K-cup for my morning drive
Company provides 1 free Starbucks usually get an Americano in the AM
usually get a 2nd paid for Starbucks after lunch (cold brew in warmer months, will change it up in winter months either Americano, Cappuccino or Espresso in colder months)

At home
Usually 2 k-cups in the am

Will get an occasional Starbucks or equivalent if the wife and I are out shopping or something

So, yes? :D

Neither one is great for you but I think you made the better choice.

I'm everyday. 2 to 3 cups. Decaf.

I don't even think caffeine is that bad for you... I just had a few days of heart palpitations several years ago while I was exercising, sleeping well and un-stressed. Lord knows I wasn't give up alcohol, so I switched to decaf and everything has been fine. Don't miss the caffeine at all and from time to time can get a good buzz going. Only downside is that most decaf coffee sucks.

2 K-cups in the morning at work. Too much flavored creamer because I'm a basic b***h. Will hit up Starbucks on the weekend if the thought hits, but not a necessity.

About once a year I switch from coffee to tea, but after a couple weeks, switch back because coffee is easier.

I have never had a complete cup of coffee. I have tasted it and it is vile. Everyone said, oh you will start once you get in college....NOPE!. Oh, when you get a real job it will happen....NOPE! When you have kids keeping you up.....NOPE!

I think a lot of it has to do with hot drinks are terrible to me. Drinks should be cold. So coffee, tea and to some degree hot chocolate really don't interest me. I will also say that caffeine really has no affect on me. I can drink three high caffeine drinks before bed and go right to sleep. I must be some weirdo.

Yes, every day, but I am on the odd side of things compared to most. I very rarely drink it in the morning, mostly because I never felt the need - I'm up when I get up and I've always felt like I have good energy early in the day, and I don't want to get used to it to the point of needing it then. But I very often would fall asleep on the couch watching tv with my wife, so years ago I started drinking it in the evening sometime after dinner. I still fall asleep fine at night, but I'm now more in line with my wife where I usually don't sleep until I decide it's time to sleep rather than just passing out.

I can fall asleep through a recent caffeine jolt just fine.

But can I stay asleep? No sir -- coffee after mid-afternoon equals a half-dozen trips to the john throughout the overnight hours :kicksrock: I love my coffee, and used to sometimes have a bit after dinner up until about ten years ago.

I’m a couple of cups of coffee in the morning, and then espresso in the mid-afternoon to pick me up through the rest of the work day.

I have no issue with staying asleep either. There is no difference in my night time trips to the john with or without caffeine.

I could have typed exactly this. The only way coffee is palatable to me is if it's loaded with cream/milk and sugar, but then I just feel like I'm slugging liquid sugar. No thanks.

Two cups of chicory blend at work in the morning w/ a splenda and powdered creamer (low brow), and a homemade cold brew with heavy cream (snob level) as long as I hit it before noon.

I've been a pretty heavy coffee drinker forever but am in the process of gradually subbing in more decaf than regular coffee. Anyone found any good decaf? I usually like dark roast bold coffee flavors but the few decafs I've tried seem kinda weak, flavorwise.

I'll also add that each of the last few years I've decreased the amount of cream and, more importantly, sugar I add to each cup. Down from 3 teaspoons per cup to one. Still prefer bold coffees though.

Wasn't much of a coffee drinker until I got married(35 years old). Now, at 53, I'm drinking 2 or 3 cups a day.

Drank when I was growing up, with Grandpa because I thought it was "cool" (amounted to about 1/4 cup coffee and the rest milk). Didn't drink as I got older until I quit drinking and went to AA. It is the staple of the AA meeting. Now I drink 2-3 large cups (12-16 oz) a day, but only in the morning. If I drink any after mid afternoon, I can't get to sleep at night. Is the same thing now with soda. I have one can in the afternoon and usually one with dinner. After that it is water all night or no sleep.

had a Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks last week while on vacation, though i'm not sure that's really considered "coffee". prior to that it's been at least 20 years since having a cup

Every morning. Grind our beans and that makes a difference to us. About 2-4 cups a day.

I get up before everyone else everyday so it’s just me, my coffee and that first piss out back.

I REALLY enjoy it.

+1 for grinding your own beans at home. The smell and taste of fresh, hot, delicious dark roast coffee is one of life's great pleasures. No cream or sugar, just an ice cube to cool her down a little and I'm a happy man.

I never drink it black, either.

However, there are some artificial sweetener combos that do the trick for me. Big mug of joe + 2 Sweet N Lows + 2 Splendas + top with half & half = chef's kiss.

you had me in the palm of your hands until you added the ice cube

Pretty much every day, several espressos. Typically one in the morning, after meals, and then during mid afternoon or evening if hanging out. Black, no sugar. Occasionally a regular cup of black coffee and I'll partake in a gas station vanilla cappuccino on road trips every once in a while.

I can drink it right before bed and no issues. I can also go without and not have withdrawal.

Another interesting question is "What is your default cup of coffee?"

I thought black-coffee drinkers were a small minority (here in the land of cafe au lait, I think they are). But going through the thread, it looks like people think first of "black coffee" when you say "cup of coffee".

IMHO, coffee with sweetener, creamer, dairy, whatever is as legit a cup of coffee as black.

The number of times I have scorched the taste buds off my tongue from drinking super hot coffee is staggering. So, it's like a child in a swimming pool, I need floaties because otherwise I'll just jump in and drown.

Sure it's still coffee but it now becomes bad for you if it's loaded with sugar and creme. Since I've drank it black for so long, thinking about drinking a sweet mix in my coffee cup turns my stomach a bit.

There's a lot of sugar in so many things already and it's really damaging to your health.

I also like the dark roast bold that the coffee snobs find burnt. For good decaf, I like Peet's Major Dickinson Decaf. I've only found this at Amazon and it's sold out frequently. I also will do the Starbucks Verona Decaf which I can find at grocery stores and will buy in quantity when on sale.

I believe cold beverages are the leading sellers in Starbucks these days. Cold coffee is all the rage.
I hear you though.

I have never been inside a Starbucks......that is how much I dislike coffee (and overrated crap like that).

(I have ordered a breakfast sandwich from a Starbucks kiosk in an airport because I was starving and there were no other food choices in that location and I had to get on a plane. I don't count that as being in a Starbucks).

Cold Brew with a splash of milk..........yummmy

I never had a cup of coffee in my life. I sipped it when I was young once and hated the flavor and never tried again.
That was me until I got diagnosed with gout. I had foot pain off and on for years before figuring out the cause.

At least a quart a day - I've normally finished a pot by noon. It helps with fasting.
My gout acts up when I lose weight, coffee helps keep the gout and hunger away.

I'm on my second 30oz cup of the day. I have been working myself up and drink coffee 5 to 6 days a week now.

3 creams, 1 sugar and a bit of ice to 30oz.
