I did when I lived in a house with my family - now that I'm alone in a condo/apartment without many Christmas time visitors, I don't bother.

Lights always. We moved a little over a year ago and had it down to a science at the old house with lights on house, trees, bushes, etc. New house we're starting just w/ house lights and going to slowly add to it. Although after being on the roof last weekend, may look to hire it out in the future.

I don't. Did every year when married, but now a decade into being single, keep decorating to a min. Small tree to put presents. My ex-wife still goes overboard, inside and out, so the kids get enough over there.

Minimal in that it's a strand of lights along the front. I have a single story so fairly easy (other than now having gutter guards so I will need a new method of hanging them) and I marked the strings to make it easy every year without having to worry about falling short on one side or the other.

Voted Yes even though I am not sure it will get done this year due to the gutters (would be the first year as long as I can remember without them).

Do I? No. I don't do ****. My wife does it all. I don't help a lick and she knows I don't care.

I don't know how I'm supposed to vote.

Sounds like a hard no.

If Mrs. Zow would like to create a FBG account then she can vote yes.

Just wasn't sure if the "you" in the poll was the literal singular you or "you" as in the household/marital unit.

Yes, but not across the entire front eave the traditional way. My wife has a big lit garland that goes over/around the door, then we add a couple of wreath/lantern combo things that hang on either side of the front porch, LED candles in all front windows, and then a couple of lit deer and an angel in the yard.

Technically yes, a wreath and welcome mat but I feel like the spirit of the question is a bit
more involved

Yeah this is where I'm at, although I don't even have to lay out cords or anything. Wife and kids do it all.

Poor woman.
It's the price she pays to get the whole mudroom to herself.

Inside - two 10’ trees, garland, ton of other decorations.

Outside - hung lights on the exterior (minus the largest peak that I couldn’t get to with a 28’ ladder). Some giant inflatable Christmas balls, 4 small lights trees, 3 snowmen and a Grinch house light my wife got this year that is pretty cool.

I love Christmas!!

Absolutely. Ornaments on the tree, light up presents, snoopy, two other dogs, and a moose. I added colored lights porch / driveway lights this year for Halloween and will change colors seasonally.

Marriage is all about compromise.

She pretty much does everything around the house and, as a trade off, she has 100% say about all goings on in the house.

I love to do it. Do front and back porch railings, a bush out front, the top railing on the two-rail fence out front and then a mid-sized evergreen with a nice big star on top facing the road into our neighborhood.

I'd do a lot more if I had the time and money, but was only able to get half of it up last weekend. Planning to finish this Saturday.

All is done with the small clear lights. My wife abhors the colored lights & inflatables. I used to object, but I think she is right. It just looks cleaner and more classy.

Inflatables are so bad looking during the day especially if you are in a windy area or if you put too much up. A neighbor across the way looks like Christmas threw up all over their lawn and it looks terrible.

I like seeing other peoples' lights outside but have no interest in spending the time to put them up myself.

Who has inflatables up during the day?

That's the point. They aren't "up" so they are deflated all over the lawn and it looks like trash

Yes, but I have significantly downsized from what I used to do. I am lazy. I pretty much just shine a couple of red and green spotlights on the house…put green bulbs in our porch lights…and set out a modest 6 ft spiral LED “tree” that on the porch. I’m not hanging anything from roof lines or messing with string lights on the shrubs any more. Our indoor tree also sits in front of a large window in the front of the house so that adds a little to the outdoor decor.

Yet you still won't give her a lick?

We dumped all the inflatables a year or two ago. Agree they’re just a mess during the day and we also prefer a more “classy” look.

We just do (cool) white icicles and put red and green large old school bulbs on the spruces.

I like candles in the windows but the wife hates them because of the cords.

I try to for the kids + I think it looks good. Brings back memories from when I was a young Big League Chew

Watching the weather for a decent sunny day so I can get that ******** over with

A simple row of lights along the front of the house, a couple of reindeer, a small tree, and a coule of wooden pallet tree thingies on the flower bed with small spotlights on them. Pretty minimal, but I like the lights when it s dark so early. Will pull them down first decent weekend after New Year’s.

We have a string of lights along the fenceline that encloses our front patio, a couple of wire reindeer that light up and a wire tree that also lights up. Those are in the front yard.

Wreath on the front door, which I don't really like cuz we can't really close the screen door when the front door is closed. I like the extra layer of security. :oldunsure:

Tree is up inside with lights and ornaments. Kids do that. We have some assorted small Christmas trees (like made of plaster or whatever) on a shelf and a Lego winter village on the china cabinet.

I'm glad I don't have to deal with any of it. I work 50+ hours a week and the wife works 16ish so she's got the time and wherewithal to handle it with the kids' help.
