Although every time I'm at store and walk by the chocolate milk I think "damn that looks delicious". Have held out to this point.
 
Maybe a couple of times a year like around the Holidays I'll have a glass as I put down a bunch of Christmas cookies. As a kid thru young adulthood drank a ton of milk, pretty much with every meal but have replaced that with water.
 
I used to love cereal/milk, although I never drank milk from a glass. However about 5 years ago i became lactose intolerant all of a sudden.

It sucks because milk/cream is in many dishes you do not think about, like tomato soup.
 
Does eggnog count? I very rarely drink milk on it's own. I will when I have cereal or sometimes I like it over a bowl of ice cream. Other than that it's a no (which was my answer for the pole).

Have you tried the low-fat (2%) Lactase (lactose-free milk)? Even though I’m not lactose intolerant, I get it because to me it tastes the same as regular milk, but it also has a lot longer shelf life (expiration date) than regular milk.

I have not, although I have seen it in the grocery stores. Some lactose free heavy cream would be preferable though. I mostly miss good mac and cheese.

Surprisingly, most cheeses do not have lactose. Something I did not know until fairly late in life. The only cheeses that have lactose are american and velveeta and those are hardly cheeses.
 
Didn't realize I wasn't normal with this. I drink it from my cereal bowl in the morning + in coffee, then have a big glass with dinner. Usually water during the day unless I make a PBJ. Go through a gal per week easily.

Lactose-free half & half is also out there for coffee, mashed potatoes, etc. Not hard to find around here -- even the local WalMart grocery carries it.
 
Some lactose free heavy cream would be preferable though.

This exists, too, but I've never actually seen it in our local groceries. Haven't looked for it in Whole Foods ... maybe they'd have it.

For something like mac & cheese, I might try to replace the heavy cream with a proportion of lactose-free whole milk and lactose-free sour cream mixed together (Lactaid makes both).

As an aside: the Lactaid egg nog is solid.
 

Like out of a glass... with a meal, snack, or as a refreshment. Chocolate milk I suppose qualifies too.

ETA: Milk in your cereal does not count
I don't drink "regular" milk, but almond, oat or coconut milk. It's very rare that I just have a glass of milk though. Only if I was eating cookies or snack cakes and that's very very rare for me. I get my milk in either cereal or shakes (with frozen fruit added).
 
I drink almost a gallon of milk a week (whole milk). Love it with savory dinners - like pot roast type stuff, love it with a sandwich and chips (especially PB&J), and if I have something sweet I gotta have milk to cut that some. It tastes great, but it's always with something - just by itself ...meh.

I'm a mild diabetic (only take metformin - no shots), so I don't have huge amounts at one time. When I do, it knocks me right out.

Chocolate milk and strawberry milk are treats that I rarely do - but if I do, I have it with peanut butter toast - so you have a kind of savory to cut the sweet of the flavored milk.

love the milk.
 
Not daily but several times a week and almost always after Ice cream or any type of cookies.

I like to put a small glass in the freezer a few minutes before I drink it.
 
"In your coffee" or "in your smoothie" doesn't count either. I will, however, accept soy/almond/coconut/etc if it is consumed by itself (from a class or the carton)
 
Whoops, voted before I read that in cereal doesn't count. Oh well, I do have an occasional chocolate milk or have a regular cup of milk if I eat Oreos, which is rare.
 
Not since my early 20s and did crossfit and was told that milk isn't good for adults. Haven't really craved a glass of milk, though "good" chocolate milk does appeal to me and I'll occasionally grab a sip of the kids' if we got the good stuff.
 
No, never. Not sure when my last glass of cow milk was. We switched to oat milk at home, but that's too sweet for me, so I just don't touch the stuff. Not in coffee either.

Dairy industry is pretty dirty and lied to the world about how healthy milk is for humans.
 
At least a few times a week if not more. I don't drink coffee so by breakfast beverage is milk or OJ, depends what I am eating.

Saying milk isn't good for you seems to me like an overreaction to the advertising that made it sound like a perfect food.
Most of the arguments against it point to lactose intolerance being common and it being high in fat or cholesterol (as if low-fat milk didn't exist). Or it being somehow "unnatural" which is just silly, IMO.

I'm lucky enough to tolerate and digest it well and I drink 2% or less (very rarely whole milk). Sure it has some sugar, but it's overall "good for me" (if not "you").
 
Half a glass of unsweetened almond milk with protein powder after most workouts. Sometimes as a smoothie with peanut butter, Greek yogurt, banana, some whey grass mix my wife bought.

We have enough Milks!

Huh. To me, this sounds like asking, "Do you eat meat?" and then accepting vegetarian meat substitutes like veggie burgers.

Not daily, but voted yes because I do have a glass maybe 3-4 times per week (usually with a sandwich at lunchtime). I drink it as often as I drink anything else...

When I was a growing boy I'd put down a gallon of whole milk every day, between morning cereal, couple glasses at lunch/dinner, then protein shakes scattered throughout the day. These days it's cereal 3-4x/wk and a couple glasses to drink straight, and I go through a gallon of 2% in about a week.

:shrug: point is (and I didn’t say it) in moderation milk is perfectly fine and beneficial for most of us.
