There are usually two or three reasons: humor, money, and sometimes just personal tastes. I know I outkicked my coverage when I landed my wife, but we have fun together.

Having fun together is most important.  Looks are so fluid, I don't think there is anyone I find attractive if I spend enough time with them.

My first thought is "he must be rich." 

I was looking up Jessica Lucas from Gotham and saw a picture of her average looking husband.  First thought was he's a tv producer or some rich entrepreneur.  Nope.  He's a butcher.  Needless to say she likes a man who knows how to handle his meat.

Wow I forgot about this thread.  Just caught up and voted on a bunch of stuff.  Some odd results to note:

Jail- 23% have actually spent a NIGHT in Jail?  That's surprising.
Amazon- 73% pay a monthly subscription to Amazon.  No wonder he went to space.
Milk in the Cereal first- 0%... thank god there are no psychopaths in here.
Stop sign- 27% ALWAYS come to a complete stop?  Liars.
Sex in moving car- Pretty high percentage said yes.  Does oral count?
