What's the chances that Prince Amukamara falls to Detroit (1 Viewer)

Where does he go?

IMO, he is taken between 8-12.

For the Lions, I would take the best available OL. They should have their choice of almost all of them.

In my mind at 13, you should be looking to snake a top 10 guy that slips. The key is Cam Newton being a top 10 pick. I would think Prince, Aldon Smith, Bowers (a lot riding on those medical tests) or Robert Quinn (although after this last week he could be a top 5 pick now) have the potential to fall to the Lions. I know the Lions are strong at dline, I'd rather take Aldon Smith and put a young potentially elite level pass rusher next to Suh. KvB is old and won't be around much longer. The Lions love moving their linemen around and having a strong rotation. The entire basis of their defense is to be able to get pressure with a 4 man rush. Adding Aldon Smith could give the Lions the most formidable defensive line in the NFL

Prince should be taken before Det has a chance to pick him. Even if he falls, I'd think Det should take their pick of which T they see as the best in this draft. I think they will have that opportunity and this team can not turn the corner until they keep Stafford on the field. That starts with them getting at least decent players at T.

I must admit, the thought of adding a guy like Quinn to the Dline along side Suh is pretty scary.

I agree. 1st round is BPA territory. I actually hope the Lions can get their hands on an elite DE. Adding one to the Lions already strong DLine would make their defense very tough in a hurry.

The better your pass rush is, the less you have to ask your corners to do. We all saw what the Giants were able to do with that defense when they could rotate 6 and 7 guys on that d-line and pressure QBs consistently while still dropping 7 into coverage.

Both very good points! The only problem I have is the correlation between sacks allowed & drafting high (ie. losing).

I dont see anyway Prince makes it past Houston.

I agree with some of the other poster that the Detroit Lions should take the best LT they can get there hands on.

To me this looks like a deep crop of good, but not great OT's. I see no reason the Lions couldn't get a solid one at the top of the 2nd.

Yeah there doesn't seem to be a lot of top notch OTs, so either that, or BPA. Our line is nice now, but Vanden Bosch isn't a spring chicken anymore and will need to be replaced eventually, so a top DE would be nice. But I would definitely like Peterson or Amukamara (which both at #13 are wishful thinking).

If he is still there when Houston picks at 11 Houston will be sprinting to the front to turn the pick in...did you see our pass-d last year? Detroit is going to have to trade up into the 8-10 range to snag him.
