What's the deal with Alexander? (1 Viewer)

I have him in 1 dynasty league, and its getting to the point that I'm not sure he's a must start anymore. I admit I haven't watched all of their games, but his YPC are brutal. Is his hand injury a big factor? Does he just look slower? Any Seahawks homers have any insight? Has anyone traded him recently, and if so, what did you get?

I think it's a combination of age, injuries (foot, wrist), and a declining offensive line.

The Seahawks offense isn't as good, the line isn't nearly as good, Alex isn't as good. That being said they did play the Steelers so I wouldn't go too nuts but his days of 4.5+ YPC and 12+ tds' are in the rearview mirror.

I also own him in a dynasty league. I don't think he is an automatic start anymore. However, his next 3 matchups are favorable against NO, Stl & Cle. If he can string some games together his value should increase and it might be a good time to move him.

Good call. The Homerade has worn off and I recognize that he's no longer an elite talent anymore. I'm going to hope for some good games in the coming weeks and unload him for someone.

Does seem just a step slower. not quite hitting the hole when (if) it's there. O-line has been a problem since last season and that has not changed. Hate to say it because I'm an SA fan, not owner. Nothing to back this up, but watching the 'Hawks it seems like they are more willing to bail on the run sooner in games, rather than feed the ball to SA so he can get into a groove running.

Alexander:

27/105/1 in a win against Tampa, who looks very good defensively

18/70/1 in a close loss against Arizona, who looks improved defensively

21/100/0 in a close win against Cincinatti, who looks bad defensively.

25/78/0 in a blowout win against San Francisco, who looks mediocre defensively

11/25/0 in a blowout loss against Pittsburgh, who looks very good defensively

Nothing worked well for the Seahawks yesterday. Otherwise he has looked good. 415 total yards and 2 TDs through 5 games isn't great, but he's faced some tough defenses and was looking pretty good until yesterday. Sure he hasn't had that 2 TD game, but he's had a couple of 100 yard games, and a couple of TDs, and that's pretty decent. Through the first four games, he was on pace for a 1500 yard, 8 TD season. He got shut down in a blowout loss but also plays some soft defenses soon. No reason to think he won't be good the rest of the way.

I don't own him in any money leagues, but I may try to acquire him if this is really how people feel about him right now.
