What's the deal with Todd Heap? (1 Viewer)

Does he still have some value going forward?

Is he still hurt, or is he simply not being used this much in the Ravens offense under new coach and new QB?

I finally dropped him two weeks ago and grabbed Greg Olsen off the waiver wire. Heap has been one of my biggest disappointments this season. I got him cheap and had high hopes for him initially, but it appears that the Ravens simply aren't including Heap in their gameplan and are holding him back so he can block. I don't think he's hurt -- he's just being used differently this year. I watched him against the Steelers and he rarely went out on a pattern and even when he did, he wasn't targeted. If your league has large rosters, he's probably worth hanging onto because he's an elite athlete and capable of being a top 5 TE when healthy. But I couldn't justify keeping him on my 14-man roster any longer.

No clue. I cut him in a dynasty league a few weeks ago. He's still young, I have no idea what's going on. Mason is decent, Clayton is a warm body. They have some decent running backs. How are they not using the TE? You'd figure a young QB would love to have a stud TE. Maybe injuries finally caught up to him, he always seemed to be hurt the last few years. Lose a few steps, and you're just not getting open.

Sent him packing after that Cam Cameron idiot said Heap's job was blocking.
Essentially the issue is a young QB couple with a below average OL which means he stays in to block. Wasn't Cameron at SD during the Gates ers, so i assume he know how to use a TE, just does not feel like he can do it properly at the moment.

Might not be a bad start this week, especially in deeper leagues. Most likely Asomugha will cover Mason and besides screen passes to the backs, Heap is the only viable option. Heap was kept in to "block" more against Pitt and Indy given the outside pass rush.

After OAK, Heap faces CLE and HOU so staying into block shouldn't be as much of an issue over the next 3 weeks.
