What's the highest you've ever seen a rookie (1 Viewer)

I just saw in one expert league Reggie Bush go as the 11th overall pick. I can't recall ever seeing a rookie go in the first round before. Prior to Bush, what's the earliest you remember a rookie getting picked, who was it, and which pick nabbed him?

Reggie Bush got nabbed #8 overall this year in my league. We re-drafted this year and have two keepers next year

Reggie Bush got nabbed #8 overall this year in my league. We re-drafted this year and have two keepers next year

That doesn't count. His value is probably higher than 8 in that league as-is.
 
I wasn't playing ff when Barry was a rookie. I'd imagine he was going near the first round back in the day...that was pre internet era though so it's hard to say what his ADP was.

I think I recall Ricky Williams going late first/early second.

 
EDGE his rookie year with INDY went 12th in a 12 team redraft....Payed off for that guy! He was the best back in the league that year.

 
I can't remember any first rounders in any redraft league I've been in; the highest I've ever seen it done (and I was the guy picking) was Edge at about 2.05 in a 12-team redraft league.

It's pretty rare for a bona fide stud rookie to be drafted onto a team that is both good enough to provide him with scoring and yardage opportunities, but that at the same time is thin enough at his position for there to be no doubt about the work load going to him and willing to place its fate in a rookie's hands. Tough criteria to meet.

 
Tomlinson went at 1.12 in my league when he was a hold-out rookie.

I am hoping the same owner takes Bush this year at 1.11.

 
this guy's first year in our league he took William Green and Portis on the 1.12/2.1 turn... he, not suprisingly, lost the first 5 or 6 games.... but then amazingly won the rest including the title game... hasn't been back since, although he's always pretty close

 
I saw Randy Moss go 6th in a 16 team redraft...

1300 Yds and 17 TD in his rookie season...

We all thought he was crazy...

 
In my main money redraft, Edgerrin James went around 1.10 his rookie year. Ricky Williams went not long after (early 2nd, though).

 
A friend called me the other night laughing. Went on to tell me he had just finished a draft where the guy owning the 1.02 pick in a redraft league took Reggie Bush.
