I am reading that he may no longer be on track for a potential playoff run and that Starks is, and will remain, the man in G.B.

On Wednesday, one of the writers for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel tweeted surgery might still be an option:

#Packers RB Cedric Benson, eligible to return off temp-IR 12-9, says surgery still might be a possibility to correct Lisfranc foot damage.

Here's a blog post (from the same writer on the same day) that has some Benson quotes. It also says Benson has an appointment "later in the month" with Dr. Robert Anderson.

When asked if he had a timetable to return Benson said "no, I wish I did, but right now I don't."

even if he comes back, it'll be a timeshare...and GB running backs are hardly worth the time.

In dynasty if I have a spot, I keep him. You never know how things might pan out next off season. Say the Jets signed him? But I wouldnt hold out too much hope.

Done in redraft, but he should have been dropped weeks ago.

Has Bensen been ruled out for the rest of the season or is it still expected that he will see the field sometime next week? McCarthy was supposed to have an announcement yesterday after practice but I didn't see anything.

This was just posted on Rotoworld and it's not good news:

Per the Press-Gazette, there's "growing concern" that Cedric Benson (foot) won't be able to return this season.

Benson is eligible to come off injured reserve for Week 14, but that's not going to happen. His Lisfranc sprain does not appear to be healing as the Packers have expected and he's admitted that surgery is a possibility. We'll know more by the end of the week.
