What's the narrowist margin of victory... (1 Viewer)

SuperJohn96

RPS World Champion
The first season my league instituted decimal scoring I won a game by 0.02 points...so 1 passing yard, the absolute smallest point you can get in my league.

Reason I brought it up is I need Akers to get 0 points with 12 minutes left in the 4th, which seems VERY unlikely.

My lousy underachieving team is 0-3 and is desperately clinging to a 0.18 point lead right now...

Well...0 points, or a missed FG (-3) or XP (-1)...LOL

I lost the championship game 2 years ago by 0.04 points. All I needed was like 1 yard from LJ Smith and he could not deliver.

In a Championship Game? Arg that sucks... of all the times to disappear...Question: Who was the TE you benched for him?

I watched my team lose at the end of a MNF game when Steve Young took a knee twice to end the game. Each knee cost me one yard and I lost by 0.1.

Worst part was I saw it coming when the 49ers took possession after gaining possession on downs. That was torture.

THAT is the closest margin ever - purely because it took a fantasy win to a fantasy loss while his QB had previously won him the game

Yeah we had that once too...the guy had his QB kneel and he lost by 1 rushing yard (0.04 points)...

On the flip side, I won last week when Colston made his final reception on the last Saints possession. So many years, so many broken hearts. Odd how we seem to remember ALL the times we got screwed.

well, he said he needed one yard 0 was that one MORE yard or was LJ blanked in the game?
Just 1 yard. He finished with 0 catches for 0 yards.I was down .04 heading into the Monday Night game. I had LJ, opponent was done. Cost me $250 and a mouthfull of crow.

I lost this week by 0.3 points, but I can't complain too much: I won last week by 0.6 points.

(Note, all teams scored over 110 points each week.)

League championship game was determined by .04 points three years ago.

Leading to the temporary abolition of decimal scoring...

OMG YES!!!This sack at the GB28 cost Akers a FG for sure!!!

3-7-GB28 - (9:59) (Shotgun) D.McNabb sacked at GB 44 for -16 yards (sack split by A.Kampman and A.Hawk).
Even better than being 1-3 is the team I beat is now 1-3...one less team ahead of me for the playoff hunt.I just won 62.10 to 61.92 ...a 0.18 point difference!!

I lost last year by 0.1 when Adrian Wilson made a meaningless tackle on the last play of the game. The Titans were driving, down by a bunch, just trying to put a final drive together. Wilson has to make the tackle as time expires on the clock, I lose to my arch rival (12 year keeper league) by 0.1. I hate that guy!

I was in a game that awarded .2 points for every yard rushing or receiving. I was leading by .7 with all of my players done, and the other guy had Portis. There was about 2 minutes left in the game, Washington had the lead and was trying to kill the clock, but they couldn't just take a knee, they had to try to get a first down (because the other team had enough TOs left to force the punt). That was the most agonizing 5 minutes of my life. First, Portis gets stuffed for no gain. My .7 lead remains intact. Then, Portis runs for 4 yards, and I lose by a tenth of a point. I was devastated......until third down, when Portis got dropped for a 1 yard loss. :excited:

I had won by .2 last week and .6 the previous week. But after some odd scoring correction, I wound up losing this week by a point or two.

I just won my game this week by 1 point, and I thought for sure I had lost until I saw the final stats that gave Michael Lewis credit for 4 passes defensed.

I won my championship a few years ago on a tiebreaker :banned:

I was ahead on Saturday by a huge margin. My opponent crawls back into it and ties me Sunday.

The tiebreaker was total # of tds scored and I had a 2 td advantage.

CHAMPIONSHIP & $1000.

the Donor 103.70

Copperheads 103.72

GameCast | Final

High Scorer: Donovan McNabb (39.22 points)

This was the score for this matchup after tonight's game. Brutal. Luckily, the Donor is in my division. :lmao:

We don't have decimal scoring (apparently I'm the only person in our league who thinks it would be a good idea), so this is as close as it can get in our league.

In a game last year we had a tie. We then go to bench points, which was also tied. Our second and final tiebreaker is kicker points, which was also a tie.

The following morning there was a scoring correction that broke the original tie, otherwise we would have had our first official tie that would have remained a tie in the standings.

Despite all that, I still can't get the league to change to decimal..... or come up with a third tiebreaker for that matter....(I hate the fact it's bench points and then kicker anyway)

I agree that bench points is the dumbest tie-breaker there is. Our work league finally dropped that as a tie-breaker this year (of course I was involved in the first tie and my bench outscored his bench).By using bench points as a tie-breaker you are penalizing the guy who has handcuffs, injuries, or byes and rewarding the owner who wasn't smart enough to put his bench guys in his starting lineup to begin with.

I just lost last night on a tie breaker. Final score 91-91 (I started Westbrook  ).

Tie breaker in this league is scoring from the bench. My bench scored 21....his scored 22.

I lost last night on a tie breaker. We use qb yardage as our tie breaker. He had Leftwich who had 289 yards. I had McNabb who had 288 yards. :(

In my league, we don't allow fractions of a point, but just this week, I came into last night's game needing Greg Jennings to score me ten points to win. I was down 100-99 when Jennings caught the thirty yarder that was knocked loose. When the Eagles challenged, they were essentially challenging my victory since Jennings did not record any more stats the rest of the game. Thank God they ruled it a catch on the field, because I don't think there was indisputable evidence to change the call either way. Now instead of being 1-3, and looking toward next year's rookie draft, I'm 2-2 and still hoping to be in the championship hunt.

In another case last year, Mike Anderson had tied the game for a guy in my league. The following play, he lost yards, and subsequently the point. The guy who benefited from this won by one point. Had he tied, he would have been out of the playoffs, but since he won he got in. He went on to win the championship. It was crazy.

A couple years ago I lost by .90 points. It was week one of the first year of a contract league. I went through all my scoring and i saw a sack that wasnt credited to my defense. That gave me a point and I won by .10 of a point. needless to say the owner of the other team was pissed when his win was reversed.

You can't go back . . . or most times you don't want to.

I remember my WORST fantasy football loss ever. It was Week 4 in 2002, STL vs DAL. I had just acquired Kurt Warner from an owner who was in a panic over his dreadful start to the year (1 TD and 7 INT in the first 3 games of the season).

I had a 1 point lead with only Warner left to play and my opponent had no one left to play. I COULD have benched him and won automatically, but with league playoff tie breakers based on total points for the season I left him in the lineup hoping to build up some additional points.

Warner completed his first pass for 17 yards (no decimal scoring and 1 pt per 20 yards passing). On his next pass, Warner got his clock cleaned and airmailed a pass right to the Cowboys safety. Warner was out for the game. INT in that league were scored at -2 points.

So I went from winning to losing on the first drive of the game. Lost by a point when the game was already won.

To add insult to injury, Warner missed 6 weeks, came back even rustier and got hurt again.

I think I might have that beat!

My redraft league has always crowned the guy with the highest total points the Champion (don't ask me why, I didn't write the rules). Last year I drafted, in order, Deuce McAlister, Kevin Jones, Nate Burleson and Trent Green .... ugh. However in 5-10 I took Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Smith, Larry Johnson and Jonathan Vilma. I stumbled out of the gates but began making up ground in a hurry as the season wore on. It came down to me versus the guy with Peyton Manning, Gates and Chad Johnson. I was trailing by 30 going into the final week but LJ went off for me. However he got a good game from Richard Seymour in the Pats-Jets night game and beat me by .25 points. 16 games and the top 2 guys are separated by .25 points!!!!

Of course in that situation you then go back and think of all the called back touchdowns, injuries and unseen events that tripped you up. However the only one that really irked me was all the way back in week 1 when I got a goosegg from Jeremiah Trotter after he was ejected prior to kickoff on monday night in Atlanta. :wall: It's amazing how small the difference can be between winning and losing.

Oddly enough, in my dynasty league, that Jets-Patriots game, more specifically Richard Seymour, decided the Super Bowl winner too. 2 totally separate leagues that not only came down to the same game, but were decided by the same player!
