What's the scoop with Donte' Stallworth? (1 Viewer)

I think they're just being careful with him. He's pretty fragile, no reason to get him hurt now.
But what injury are they trying to prevent him from reaggravating? You're probably right in that they're just trying to be careful but I haven't heard any njury that he was rehabbing from. All that I have seen is that he's on the list and the Pats have maintained their usual CIA-level secrecy.

And for those looking for a link:

The Patriots have 12 receivers on the roster. Three are on the physically- unable-to-perform list: veteran Troy Brown, free agent Donte' Stallworth and Chad Jackson, a second-round draft pick a year ago whose rookie season was limited by leg injuries.

The other top candidates are holdovers Reche Caldwell and Jabar Gaffney, free agent Kelley Washington and Wes Welker, who was acquired in a trade with Miami.

Ever since training camp began, one man has been the center of attention with the fans and media. That player is, of course, explosive receiver Randy Moss. Whether it be his number change, how much effort he’s giving in practice or the effortless way Moss makes playing receiver look, No. 81 has had the eyes of New England on him every moment of every practice.

That is until today. For the first time since training camp kicked off last Friday, Moss wasn’t on the field. The veteran pass catcher appeared to have tweaked his hamstring yesterday trying to fetch a flea-flicker from Tom Brady. As expected, Moss wasn’t on the field for Thursday’s morning practice and it’s unknown when he’ll return to action.

Other players not in attendance on Thursday morning were the guys still on PUP – Troy Brown, Chad Jackson, Richard Seymour, David Thomas, Eddie Jackson, Donte’ Stallworth – along with Kyle Brady, Rashad Baker and Garrett Mills.

Who’s not: Donte’ Stallworth – No one on the field this morning warrants a place here so I’ll go with Stallworth. With every passing day, Stallworth loses more and more reps with Tom Brady and falls further behind. He’ll still have his blazing speed when he returns but how comfortable will Stallworth be in the Patriots offense? As Stallworth sits, Jabar Gaffney continues to shine and improves his chances of being one of the Patriots opening day starters at receiver.

Since his rookie year, I've always liked Stallworth. He's got a lot of talent as a receiver. But the man just canNOT stay healthy. If he can get the Pats at least 12 games this year, I think he and Moss would be a deadly duo...
