I know he's made comments re: his lack of being 100%, but he's still playing right? 35th ranked WR? 84th flex option? Ya gotta figure there's gonna be some point scored in this game.
I think his ranking probably just reflects that he is a risky play; until you see him perform well in a real game situation for 4 quarters, there are probably safer plays out there.
The lingering effects from Welker's injury is really something that's been beaten to death this offseason. Until he gets on the field, nobody really knows including those that make projections. As a Pats fan, I'm equally as interested to see what impact the Hernandez/Gronk duo has on Welker's overall production as the season goes on. Welker's never been a big TD guy, but the Pats all of a sudden have 3 guys (Moss, Hernandez, Gronk) that seem more than capable of being elite redzone targets. There are more mouths to feed this year.
