Personally, I'm not a big proponent of handcuffing. But obviously during the pre-season it made sense to hedge your bets (no pun intended) if you drafted Portis because of the general nature of the information that as coming out of Redskins training camp.
While I know it's only Week 1, it does not appear that Portis is any more susceptable to injury or down time than any other RB. Perhaps the tendinitis will linger, but if anything - you would think that Portis' load will increase over the weeks. So as it stands, it would almost seem that Betts would have the same value as a Leon Washington type now (maybe even less).
I've got Betts, but I'm leaning toward keeping him one more week and then dropping him after Week 2. Any other thoughts/opinions on this topic?
