curious what time people eat in the morning (assuming M - F) or if they don't and what impacts they feel their choice has on the rest of their day

I eat dinner, no breakfast or lunch.  I really don't see the use in eating multiple meals every day.  Sometimes if one of my female coworkers brings cookies or cake I'll eat some of that, but as for meals, nah.

this is an interesting twist

how do you feel throughout the day?

I work overnights so I usually eat 12-1pm workdays. Still call my first meal breakfast and consists of regular breakfast food.

Days off, usually a little earlier, between 10-11. Feel pretty normal from when I ate at normal hours, just because my day is pushed back and my body has since adjusted.

Voted before 8, assuming I've left the house by 8.  Usually something I can eat in the car (granola bar, pop tart, banana, microwave sausage biscuit or breakfast burrito, etc)

On Fridays I stop and get a bagel

Since Thanksgiving, i've only eaten dinner. Thought it was a crazy idea going in. But I adjusted quickly. I am hungry but not really craving anything during the day. Lost 13 pounds so far.

Three or four meals a day, starting at noon, ending with a late dinner.  Found it odd that there were so many early breakfast options, but none that let me skip that and start with lunch.

When I worked, I skipped breakfast most of the time mainly because I'm just not hungry when I get up.  Would always have a couple of large cups of coffee when I got to work - and that would suppress any hunger pangs.  By lunchtime, I usually wasn't famished but ready to eat.

These days (retired), I don't usually get up before 11am or noonish so there's that.  I end up skipping lunch more than half the time now too - same reasons ...not really hungry when I first get up, and then drink coffee until mid-afternoon or so.

Definitely helps weight management.

Great.  I don't slow down in the afternoon if you are wondering that.  I take daily vitamins and a modest stack (L-Theanine, Caffeine, Oxiracetam) every morning.  Not a coffee drinker, just water.

I start working at 5:30am so always eat something before 8am... banana, breakfast bar or cereal.. oh and a pot of :coffee: is also finished before 8am.

I guess usually before 8, but I typically grab something like a protein shake on the go rather than a formal breakfast. I’m kind of hungry at breakfast but find it I have protein like that, I find myself eating less at lunch.

My body craves dinner. I’m curious if I could hold out and just do dinner like some mentioned but I feel like I’d get headaches or be lethargic at work.

kinda, like you.  Just not hungry before 11:00 so my lunch is around 11:00 ti 11:30 AM which I hope combines the two.  I eat to live & not the other way around.   Not saying I'm better because I don't each much-----I'm lucky in that I'm not hungry very much.  the 12 pack sitting in my present wastebasket will attest to that fact.  so will the one hitter stashed in my office drawer.

Happy Trails.

Banana and granola bar on the way to work.  I wish I could say that was always before 8:00 AM.  And about 17 cups of coffee by noon.

If I'm working from home I end up having a few bowls of high fiber cereal and end up taking a #### every 90 minutes.

I think I just got to see what you guys have to eat so I know how to get to the meeting with the other guys in the morning.

I usually have my first meal within an hour of when I woke up.  If I am in a rush to work, then I will get something on my way and it's more like within 2 hours of when I woke up.

morning run at 4:30 five days a week - followed by 1/2 pack of Marlboro reds and 3 cups of coffee before groomin' for the day - don't see food 'til around 10 a.m., usually buttered roll and moar coffee/OJ ... the concept of breakfast is for weighed down suckas.

on the days i don't run, double the smokes

oh, and - coffee is always black  :coffee:

I drink coffee every morning.  We have one of those little kcup machines.  I take it with three spoons of sugar and about 25% half&half.  Bretty good

50% of the time, it's around 10:00AM, the other 50% of the time it's around 4:00PM.

If the restaurant is not too busy, I'm caught up on prep and dishes, we have enough staff, and they aren't farting around, I can sneak in 45 seconds to scarf down some Papas Chile Huevos (hashbrowns with cheese and Hatch Green Chile and eggs on top) before the lunch rush hits. And that's all I really care to eat in the morning time. Anything else would just be a boring waste of time compared to getting my Chile fix.

If the stars don't all align properly around 10:00, it ain't happening, so it's a handful of nuts and a cold beer sometime after 4:00 when I start working on dinner.

Work At 8:00

4/5 cups of green or lemon tea. No milk or sugar

Sometimes I'll have some PB crackers around 10:00

Lunch between 12:00 and 1:00 Usually leftovers

Diner whenever I'm hungry again.

My wife made me some overnight oatmeal last week, and holy mother of god. What a nightmare.

I workout at 6am 5-6 days a week.  Coffee is ready when I wakeup and I have large cup and then get in 45-60 minute workout.  Eat right after. Oatmeal with a scoop of whey protein, flax, walnuts and a few frozen blueberries.  Put extra water in the oats to accommodate the other ingredients. This keeps me full to at least noon. Does not taste that great but I figure it must be good for me.

On work days I have toast or English muffin with coffee at about 5 AM.  I eat a bowl of cereal and a cup of tea (the coffee at

work is nearly undrinkable and expensive) during my first break at 9:15.

On weekends I make a substantial breakfast around 8 AM. I will drink a whole pot of coffee throughout the morning.

This sounds awesome but not sure if my belly could handle this for bfast.

Coffee in the morning and then water till dinner. Will snack sometime around 11-2p but that's about it.

non-breakfast eaters:  how is your health? weight? energy level (if you aren't supplementing with a pot of coffee)?

I'm interested to find this out also...

While some people seem to skip breakfast to help watch (or lose) their weight, I don't think that's sustainable long-term.  There are lots of studies suggesting the best way to manage your weight is to never starve your body, but rather keep you metabolism going as much as possible, which starts with small meals in the AM and thru the day.  Even something as simple as drinking some warm water in the shower is enough to get your metabolism going in the morning.

Wake up at 4am

workout

eat at 5:20 am

kale smoothie

5 hb eggs

protein shakes

about 15 daily pills

work @ 630
If I had to do that I'd mix in one more ingredient...a gun.

2 scrambled eggs with cheese every morning before work, then a slice of cinnamon swirl toast with my coffee once I get to work. Followed by a rigid snacking schedule throughout the morning.

Up at 6 to get kids ready for the day.  At work by 7:15.  I usually don't feel like eating that early so I bring a pop tart to work.  I'll eat that or snack on something else throughout the morning.  Always have lunch and supper.

Typical day:

5am: Wake up, oatmeal and glass of water

5:30am: workout

6:30am: Protein shake

11am: lunch

3pm: snack

6pm: dinner

I usually eat breakfast with my kids before they go to school around 730.  I've noticed that I'm eating more out of habit/ obligation to Cap'n Crunch.  Usually, I'm not really hungry until 9 or 10. So, I'm trying to have breakfast less often in the morning.

Never eat breakfast.  I make coffee to bring to work, and that's all I have (cream and stevia based sweetener, so its not exactly calorie free).  I have lunch around 11.  Normally I'll have a snack in the afternoon, supper, and possibly a snack in the evening (unless my weight starts to creep up).

I typically haven't eaten breakfast, but have from time to time gotten something from the cafeteria at work.  However, when I went on the Keto diet early this year, I totally cut off breakfast and have stuck to it even after going off strict keto.

this is how i've always understood it but maybe that's not correct?

it makes logical sense to me and i know my body can't skip meals without going haywire. however, maybe it's an individual thing rather than a best practice in general?

I've been intermittent fasting for about a year now. It really helps me maintain my weight, even when I'm not focusing on my diet.

M-F I have a yogurt smoothie or a juice drink in the car.  No real solid food till noon or so for lunch.  I'm just not really big into eating when I get to work.

At home, Sat/Sun, I almost always have something for breakfast, but I'm generally not a big breakfast guy.  Much prefer to eat a bigger lunch/dinner.  And yes - I know that all studies show that's not the way to do it.
