When does the teflon wear off of Jon Gruden (1 Viewer)

GRIDIRON ASSASSIN

The Buccos haven't done jack squat so far this year.

The Bucs are on their way to NOT scoring in 6 quarters now.

At which point does 'the golden boy' Jon Gruden get questioned?

They should definitely fire the coach who went 11-5 last year. In fact, Glazer should have a sniper take him out after practice on Monday.

Gruden is the only head coach to win the NFC a super bowl this decade.

He went 11-5 last year and lost in the first round of the playoffs, but it was to Joe Gibbs who is 17-6 lifetime in the postseason.

So who wins next week?

0-2 Carolina or 0-2 Tampa Bay?

Man alive, I'd hate to be that losing team.

Nobody has explained to me how safe Gruden is btw... It's not as though they're ravaged with injuries on both sides of the ball either.

If the Glazers can show patience like owners used to, Gruden will be the Bucs' Don Shula.

First of all even if the Buccs suck all yeart and lose every game the chances of Gruden being let go during the season are slim. It does happen from time to time but mid season coaching changes do nothing to help turn the season around.

That said, I think Gruden is as safe as anyone at this point. His team does look weakk but remember he has faced some really tough competition to start the season. It is entirely possible that the Ravens and Falcons could meet in the Super Bowl this year.

There are problems but I don't think Chuckey is the problem and I would be shocked if he's not in TB next season.

Get him a real QB and his team will be fine. I guess you can say the same thing about most NFL coaches, but Gruden has proven to be an excellent head coach in the past. You can tell a QB exactly what you want, but if he lacks the talent/balls/poise to pull it off, your team is in a big whole. The green offensive line doesn't help matters either.

Sorry man, but this is an utterly ridiculous statement.Simms has been bad, he's also the same guy in the playoffs that lead them back twice against the Skins AND delivered a perfect pass that Edell Shepard DIDN'T catch. He is a fine young QB, who is playing like crap right now. But to rant about his ability is weak, he performed very well under pressure before. As for Gruden, he is as safe as any coach in the league. Not sure why anyones opinion would mean anything there, but that's mine.

Seriously, all reports are the Glazers love Gruden. In four years he has delivered a Super Bowl and two division titles. He's not going anywhere unless he wants to.

Really all there is to it. You think Bruce Allen is going to recommend he get fired?

OK, so the offense is hurting.

What's the excuse for the number of points the defense gave up against the lowly Ravens then?

I don't have any disdain for the Bucs, or Gruden - I'm just wondering...

However, I really am enjoying the current situation in Miami and in Washington.

I'm glad that Nick Saban took his act to Miami and didn't bring it to Chicago. I'll be cheering the Bears on to victory at Soldier Field when Saban brings his aging team up to Chicago in early November.

...and offensive woes aside, how is that huge investment in Adam Archuletta and Andre Carter working out for Danny Snyder. Oh ya that's right... he's distracted by his little butt buddy Tom Cruise.

I have not been that pleased with the Buc's D either, but most of the Ravens TD's were scored, or at least set up by a big defensive play by the Ravens. Also, we were without our 2 starting guards.I am not trying to make excuses, but to say Gruden should be fired is pushing it. It's sounds like you are still bitter that the Buc's stole your coach, and you still hve nothing to show for it. Not to mention we spanked you guys in the SB :bye: BTW, how is the O going with your stud OT? :lmao:

I never said he should get 'fired'. I asked when his 'genius' should be questioned. Every other coach gets questioned, Shanahan, Holmgren, Big Tuna - so why not Gruden?

As a Cadilac Williams owner Grudens pass happy ways are really irking me. What won the Bucs many games last year was a commitment to the run and strong defensive play. This year Gruden seems like he is in a time warp to his last years with the Raiders. Passing 70% of the time is not how the Bucs won a lot of games last year and its not working now either.

He has gone from one extreme of Giving Caddy the ball way too much early last year to not giving it to him enough this year.

He does, here in the Tampa area. Doubt that filters up to Chicago.
