When does Xmas end? (1 Viewer)

It's the day after Cristmas.   Do you stop watching the Xmas movies and turn off the Xmas music immediately or do you try to keep the magic going for a few days?   My neighbor has his exterior decorations and lights down and put away already.   I have always thought that was a tad abrupt.   I like to keep the music going for a few days but have never watched any Xmas shows after the 25th.

Feast of the Epiphany, Jan 6

#twelve days of Christmas, ie, "7 FFAppers forumiing, 6 cosjobs causing, FIIIIVE golden Chets.....

Jan 1 is the last day I turn my Christmas lights on.

I used to have off from this week through 1/2 so it was easier to keep the "festiveness" going.

Now that I have to work some of these days it takes a little out of it

Same here - we usually have some kind of NYE party - sometimes small, sometimes larger.  So we keep the festive stuff up.

Decorations start to come down the weekend after new years day - we are stuffed from pork and sauerkraut and usually hung over and need some recovery time.

The music stops at the end of Christmas Day, but the tree and decorations are up until New Years Day, or the weekend after depending on the schedule or how lazy I am on the 1st.  This year it all might get cleaned up on Jan1, but I work Jan 2-3 so it may be the weekend Jan 4-5....

Typically, the tree goes up Thanksgiving weekend and comes down on New Year’s Day or the following weekend. Most Christmas music and movies end on Christmas. A few, like “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” and “Die Hard”, are good all year round.

I only listen to Christmas music on Christmas Day, so that part goes away.   Similar to Christmas movies- usually only watch 1 or 2 during the season.  Tree and decorations usually stay up through New Year.

Music stops on the 26th. We always go to the opryland hotel the day after Christmas, check out the decorations and enjoy a day with the family.  Music stops when we get home.

Outside decorations come down tomorrow, indoor decor probably new year's day. Or earlier if my wife gets to it while I'm at work.

* Although we left a tree up all last year as my daughter's night light. The lights died a month ago, we've been using a string of color outdoor lights since then. Not entirely sure what we'll do now. I might be buying a new prelit (small) tree tomorrow.

Tree and decorations up the day after Thanksgiving.   All come down the weekend after New Years.

We usually have a dinner party for NYE so the decorations stay up till the weekend after NY, but sometimes come down on NYD. Music and movies end on Christmas day. Time to get back to work.

We celebrate an additional Christmas on the 26th. We play christmas music on the drive across state, but that's the end of the line. Decorations usually stay up til the epiphany, but if the weather says they need to come down a couple days early then we oblige. There's one holiday thing we didn't get to that runs through the end of the year so we will do that Monday.

We still have one more family Christmas tomorrow night. My sister couldn't make it into town until then. This year, December 28th. Most other years, Dec 26th is the end of Christmas. Holidays last until Jan 2nd. Partaking in food and adult beverage is still a year round affair.

Music ends after the ride home from Grammy's house and movies end once Nakitomi Plaza is secured.

Outdoor decorations come down New Yearish.  The tree always comes down to a battle between me and the women of the house.  I stand on the side of getting on with the new year.
