When will Charles get his (1 Viewer)

When do you guys think charles will begin to get more carries then jones. He is showing that he is the much better runner. But they are 3-0 with jones in there. I think week 5 vs the colts he will go nuts if hes given 20 combined touches.

Either when Jones is injured, or run down later in the season, but not any time soon. Haley has a huge hard on for him.

Haley has this team 3-0. The RB formula isnt going to change anytime soon.
I think it will though. Their opponents are a combined 1-8. The offense ranks near the bottom of the NFL. Week 7-8 I think Charles will be forced into more action.

The search function is your route to a 50,000 page thread on this.Until KC loses at least 2 games after their bye, expect things to remain the same. Winning overcomes all other aspects of the fantasy football hopes.

I think you see KC's plan. KC is winning. They haven't even fully worked in McCluster and Bowe to the gameplan, yet.

I think once the Chiefs are trailing in a game, the play calling will shift to Charles-heavy.

I have Charles in both of my leagues & he'll be riding the bench until he starts getting more action regularly, or I need him to cover byes.

I honestly think that it's coming soon for him. I still think Jones will be a big part of the offense, but I see it moving to about a 60/40 split with Charles getting the most carries in the near future.

I've been desperately trying to get Charles in my league, but the owner refuses to budge on him. I'm hoping he has a really bad week this Sunday and it will lower the price a little bit.

The good news is that I'm predicting that he'll score zero points this Sunday....

Jones is top 10 in rushing and just popped off damn near 5 ypc, consistently picking up healthy yardage, on one of the better 3 or 4 run Ds in the league.

What they're doing with Charles is working- he's fresh literally every time he touches the ball. As awesome as he was last year, he's BETTER this year because he's always fresher (and hungier). 7 ypc is just disgusting, but that'd go way down if his touches went way up.

He's got a junk schedule. The first 3 weeks were actually among the toughest of the year for him; he's still, what, RB11, 12, 13? You should be able to start with confidence in most of the games for the rest of the year. Indy after the bye is looking real juicy; that defense is no match for KC's improved OL, and Charles in space against those LBs? Yikes.

How exciting! Another thread where fantasy owners can pile on and talk about how stupid Todd Haley supposedly is, even though he has coached his team to a 3-0 start that no one saw coming. :bag:

Weren't the same poeple saying how dumb Josh McDaniels was last season and Denver started out 6-0...how'd that work out? Still lots of football to be played.

if an nfl team wins an nfl football game, then every single decision by everyone involved was obv irrefutably correct.

Only KC's decision on the RBs clearly IS working out, hence, you know, the No. 1 rush offense in the league. It would be different if they neglected Charles on the way to 3-0 due solely to other parts of the team. But Charles is a big part of it, along with Jones.

Yea, they are number one because jamaal has 240 yards on like 34 carries.

Exactly. Jones and Charles has been a great 1a-1b punch for the Chiefs, and I see no reason why Haley should deviate from what he is doing. He has a ####ty QB, so relying on his two great RBs, while not wearing either of them out by overworking them, is the smart move.

As long as they are ahead in games... they will probably opt to run Jones into the ground. If they are behind... I see them using Charles more.

Just watched the short cut of this game (awesome feature by the way), and man Charles is one of the smoothest runners Ive ever seen. Every move he makes is so fluid and seems effortless. Very impressive

Watched some clips of Jones running, wow what a bulldog and hard runner, he continue to be the starter the remainer of the season

Oh great, yet another thread for those who drafted Charles too high, to complain. I guess they'll continue until he gets more touches or gets busted up. I know what I'm hoping for.

Drafted Charles too early? He is averaging over 100 total yards per game with limited touches. People with Jamaal Charles on their team have nothing but positives. He stays this limited and averages over 100 yards per game.... or he gets more work and possibly becomes the top running back in football. I said it before the season... I think that if Jamaal Charles was featured, he could very well be the #1 RB in football.

I like to hear other peoples thoughts on the situation, and like these threads. I have an equal amount of talent at my #3 position out of luck. But insight on how/why Charles might explode (for me as my #2) could very well grant me a championship. If the views are incredibly bad that he will eventually explode, perhaps I'll trade him for a strong WR#2. Sometimes older threads get too many spats and the thread gets derailed. Or after 8 pages it's hard for someone with less time to pick apart the good pieces of info. A new thread sometimes brings new insight to an otherwise watered down piece.I could very much turn this around on you, and say "oh another whiner #####ing cause he didn't get Charles as his #2 so he wants to spread the negativity". I'm not, and don't want you to take it that way since I want this thread to be completely about Charles. So please just read my post and offer no reply to this (or any more 'honda' charles threads)-----------I'm still worried that the success of the Chiefs will carry over. With a successful but slow offense, a defense that can cause a few punts and a return game that is dynamic, the Chiefs could set themselves up for a lot of upsets. This may mean that we see a time share all season long. For me, I've rode out Charles as my #2 for 3 straight weeks but with a terrible gut feeling about it. I feel like we've been getting lucky with his long TD in week 1, a so-so game in week 2, and 3 receptions for 57 yards in week 3. I can't help but consider my luck to run out and he becomes a few-bursts 7 point fantasy guy every week. I didn't want that when I drafted him.I do like the flip-side that Jones is keeping Charles fresh. Perhaps what we'll see is a Jones breakdown late season and a fresh (again) Charles running all over the place.

Nothing about Jones looks good, get the old man off the field!! only thing he is good at is running forward three yards and falling down

If you think Jones looks terrible, you just aren't paying attention. 1400 yards last year and it was all the OL? Hey, guess what, the Chiefs have a pretty damn good OL themselves, hence why Jones has a healthy average and just beasted all over the 49ers. Wanna bet he slows down any time soon? Indy, Houston, Jacksonville, Buffalo in the next 4 games.

BTW, I didn't think he was too great, either, and thought Charles was going to get more work. I was wrong. Just like you are.

yeah, except he falls down for another 1.2 ypc after the three yards, so he ain't going anywhere soon.

Caught the 49ER Chief game. Both Running backs looked good for what they are asked to do. It's working for the team so don't look for any changes soon.

Look, he still could end up being the player many drafted him to be. Unfortunately the Chiefs have a winning formula (as of now) and I don't see Haley changing it unless forced to. I don't disagree, Charles stats... even in this part-time role, have been playable and only upside can be had. What I don't get is people calling Haley an idiot for not playing Charles more. Haley's job is about KC winning, not anyones fantasy team. In fact, he pretty much stated those words not long ago.
