Where does Ahmad Carrol end up? (1 Viewer)

Chaos

Now that GB cut him, where could he land.

As a former 1st rounder, he must have some value. Maybe he can still get coached up.

I'm a Packer fan who watches every game every week, and I can't imagine ANY team actually wanting him. He only did two things when on the field: get called for penalties and get used and abused by receivers. The Packers defense, especially the secondary, is horrific, and this guy couldn't even make it to the end of the season with them. First round pick or not, he's just not NFL material, IMO.

That's the bottom line. I don't just say players suck unless they are absolutely terrible, which is what Carroll is. The Packers made a huge mistake with their 1st round pick, gave him a lot more leeway because of his draft position and finally cut him when they realized he was never going to improve. Sometimes 1st round picks can't play in the NFL. It happens.

WalMart? McDonald's? :shrug:Carroll wasn't quite along the lines of "Demetrius Underwood" (sp) for being a bust (horrible, HORRIBLE Vikings draft selection in the Denny Green era), but he is at least in the same area code. Packers gain a bit more credibility in their front office after dumping that clown....in my opinion.

Helping Kurt Warner say "paper or plastic" @ the KwikiMart?

Regardless of where he was drafted, his *audition* on MNF last week won't make the agent's phone ring. Maybe CLE, with all the CB injuries this year, but as a Browns fan, I'd hate to see it.

There is a possibility the Steelers might take a look-see at Caroll if the injury to backup CB Ricardo Colclough is season-ending.

The Chiefs will look at him to be their temporary 4th cornerback (who is currently out 4-6 weeks).

I'm all for signing him to an incentive-laden, no risk type of deal. He's not as bad as the talking heads and fans say (and KC Joyner's numbers prove that), but he does need a lot of coaching. Given the performance of the entire Chiefs secondary compared to years past, I'd love to take a chance on him.

Very similar to Jamal Reynold's. And Jamal was a Top 10 pick. He just couldn't cut the mustard. He was out of the league within a year after getting cut by Green Bay. And the only reason he stayed in for another season was that he was a "former first rounder."

I assure you he is. He's horrible. Can't stay with receivers. Looks in the backfield. Gets burned deep. Gives up too much cushion underneat. Gets a lot of penalties. Has a bad me-me-me attitude. He's short, although he is fast. Does not locate the ball.

And you know this because you have watched every game he has played in his NFL career?Hey, go for it.... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

For what its worth, Mort suggested that the Pats and Dolphins may take a look given their depleted secondaries.

I think the kid ends up at safety. He has all the physical tools, but he can't handle the backpedal-hip-change of direction...he grabs when he turns.

Move him to safety and he can use that speed, and he's not a bad tackler.

I think he could be a solid free safety.

KC Joyner's numbers disagree.

And I'll take that over your opinion, because even IF you have watched every game he's played -- which is questionable -- and even IF you actually cared to study Carroll on every snap, TV angles prevent you from giving an opinion that carries a lot of weight.

Like I said, he's not as bad as fans say. Armchair quarterbacks who think they know it all might call him the worst cornerback in the NFL, KC Joyner says he isn't even the worst cornerback with a recognizable name on his back.

heard on the radio yesterday that the Browns aren't even interested in bringing him in for a workout.ouch.

He has a lot of value. He'll go somewhere with a legitimate secondary coach where he isn't surrounded by garbage, and maybe it'll work out. If not, big deal. He'll be signed to a no risk, incentive-laden deal. No one's going to lose money on him, but someone could reap big rewards. How's Charles Woodson doing out in Green Bay?Al Harris shutting people down?Yeah, that's what I thought.

Fine, who's worse?

Jamar Fletcher is still probably nice and crispy from last week against the Rams. Carroll couldn't be much worse than what the Lions already have, can he?

San Francisco has to be the most likely place to land -

Where else can he go where a man can spend all his time touching other men and its openly accepted?? :o

:penalty: SORRY - Could not resist again ...

I know it because a guy who HAS studied every snap he's played says so.What, I'm gonna bench that opinion in favor of what you have to say? :lmao: :lmao:
LOTS of people studied his every snap coming out of college.. people thought he was a 1st day talent. he's got a lot of great measurables (aside from height) but the numbers never tell the whole story.i've been dying for this guy to get better. seriously. he's got speed to burn, he's athletic as hell, he's willing to tackle.. what he lacks is between the ears. he JUST DOESN'T GET IT. period.

you scoff at Harris and Woodson's performance.. these are guys that have proven thesmelves in this league. Carroll had 2 1/4 years to improve. he did so, but only very slightly. he started waaaaaaaaay down on the ladder and barely budged from there. sometimes you have to cut bait. partly to cut dead weight and partly to send a message to your team. it happens EVERY year with new coaches.

Carroll has potential.. but just that.. potential. for every INT he makes he will surrender 4 td's and 10 penalties.

You should not reply to situations you don't know about. I don't know what team you are a homer of but I hope he goes there. Do you think the fact that he is still a free agent has something to do with his ability?

Why don't you ask KC Joyner how good Al Harris is? He studies every play you know? Even the ones that aren't caught on tape.
