Adam Scheffter has reported Pittsburgh has contacted 7 teams

including Buffalo and St. Louis about trading their pick for Big Ben.

Buffalo and St. Louis have already declined, so I left them off of the list.

There are now 5 teams in the running.....

Q: Where does BR land ?

Just adding Schefter's tweets:

Adam_Schefter Here are the known no's on interest in Roethlisberger right now: Rams, Bills. Others might not be, just not known yet.18 minutes ago via UberTwitter Adam_Schefter Here are teams that Steelers have called about Roethlisberger: Rams, 49ers, Raiders, Bills, Jaguars, Seahawks and Browns.

the suspension would actually let him transition smoothly into his new taem with a little more time to learn the offense

i wouldnt be shocked if this happened. i think a lot of people from pittsbrugh are pretty uptight and will be pissed if he isnt gone

i imagine the "not dealt" option will be very popular with "wishful thinking steeler fan".
Why do you say that when by reading the Big Ben threads, one can easily see that the Steeler fans are just as mad at Ben than any other fans. Big talk around town the past week have been about getting rid of Ben. :stalker:Or are you just

I would think if a team were to deal for him, it would have to be one with a solid fan base and doesn't care all that much about reputation. One not too far from contending and needs a QB.

Jacksonville makes sense except the solid fan base.

San Fran seems to meet the criteria.

Oakland isn't close to contending although Ben would push that along. Davis probably doesn't care to build a team properly and maybe just maybe the rest of the team is solid if they had a good QB.

I'll vote "not traded", but Oakland would be my guess if he is.

I am standing by none although I think the Steelers extending Leftwich's contract may be an indicator that they are going to trade him.

None of the Steelers fans I know would be described as "uptight". Blue collar, values-oriented, but not uptight.

The only Steeler fans I see that are mad at BR are ACP and Crosseyed.

Jacksonville has a solid fan base of about 10 people.

no :stalker: at all.I'll go out on a limb and say that I believe a majority of Steeler fans will not be cool with them dealing BR for a top 10 pick, which is reportedly the asking price.

The vast majority of Steeler fans are mad at Ben. I am not opposed to a trade for a reasonable value -- the question is what is reasonable value?

blue-collar values-oriented is closer to what i meant. didnt mean uptight as a negative thing, just the first word that came to my head to describe people that arent really keen on a lot of the blatantly immoral behavior that more glamorous cities are perfectly comfortable with.

This is probably trueSo Steeler fans - EG72 says he wants a first and either next year's first or 2 2nds. Do you guys think this is fair value for the player?

Seattle; Carrol was tweeting songs as tips as to what they were gonna do with the picks...

# next song in our @seahawksdraftclues: smooth criminal by mj# next song for #seahawksdraftclues: back door man by the doors
If that's not Roethlisberger then I don't know who is.

I believe Oakland makes the most sense, for the 8th pick.

You just have to hope Pitt doesn't blow the pick on Jimmy Claussen.

Given how much the Seahawk population vilified Roethlisberger/Pittsburgh after Superbowl XL, I think it would be worth watching him get traded to Seattle just to watch all those fans have to eat their own kidneys over it. :blackdot:

I think it's fair value.Although I think he will go for less.

You obviously aren't paying enough attention.

I think he does get traded and I think it's to Oakland. It's to ideal. Al loves strong armed QB's and it's the one team that could care less about any bad PR Ben would bring. All Al see's is the great value he'll be getting acquiring aruably a top 5 NFL QB in the prime of his career.

As a Steeler fan if Ben is dealt this will be the worst off season in the 32 years I've followed this team. Holmes gone for nothing and Ben for a first round draft pick. Now the team is stressing this zero strike policy which also means more than usual they will target character guys in the draft which means no chance of getting a guy like Dez Bryant. I'll say if Ben is traded it's the most pissed I'll ever have been at the Steelers FO. If I want to see choir boys on Sunday I'll go to church. Holmes and Ben were key in winning a SB which is what it's supposed to be about and not putting trying to win the solid citizen roster award.

Not sure why so many are angry with the Steelers FO. Ben has issues. He didn't get his act together after the motorcycle accident. Didn't wise up after the Reno allegation. And here we are ... one more strike and he gets cut and most likely a 1 yr suspension. He's a ####.

I wonder how many shmucks here who have always had nothing but hatred for the Steelers/Big Ben are quietly hoping Ben goes to their team?

+1he's had other chances to be scared straight & his behavior hasn't been altered one bit

I would think that would be a positive for the Jaguars. The Jags need somebody that will sell tickets besides MJD.

My dark horse - Cleveland.

This would be great for the drama aspect of it, he can get the Ohio fans behind him, and he can try to beat his old team 2x a year ala Favre. This would be a great trade for NFL fans...

If I were Denver, I'd really be thinking about getting into this too.

It's funny how Jacksonville's fan base is called into question and no mention is made of Oakland's fan base. 2009(edit: I mistakenly put 2010 originally) average home attendance:Jacksonville: 49.651Oakland: 44,282Both numbers are embarrassing, but might as well try and keep the playing field level.

It clearly is. You're arguing an entirely different point - that they cannot get that price for him. I agree with that, and that's why I'm saying they should not trade him.If Jay Cutler and a fifth can bring two first rounders, a third rounder, and Kyle Orton, then Roethlisberger SHOULD fetch at least that much. Asking for two firsts or a first and two seconds is already factoring the 4 game suspension and PR hit into his value. If they cannot get that type of return for him due to the recent events, then they need to allow him to remain on the team and rehabilitate his image in Pittsburgh. If Seattle came along and offered #6, #14 and a decent veteran player that fills a need (G, ILB, CB, etc..) then I'd say you have to strongly consider making that move. However, trading a franchise QB who's just entering his prime and is on the books for the next 6 years at 66 million with no guaranteed money for, say, the #8 pick in a draft with 4 elite talents is foolhardy and an overreaction to something that will fade from memory faster than most may think.

Yeah, but Jags fans don't beat up opposing fans while wearing costumes to look like the members of GWAR.

At first I thought San Francisco, but they've already had one fiasco with a guy and his pants on the ground so...

I know 49.651 is, like, almost 5 times the alleged number of 10. But, let's not act like it is 44,000.I'd also like to commend you on getting ahold of Marty McFly's Sports Almanac, can I get numbers from you?

What about Buffalo? Carolina? He could go to Carolina and be reunited with Cowher when he becomes the new head coach for the Panthers next year.
