Maybe...I think Owens may have to swallow some pride and take less cash.
Singletary would rather shave his head with a cheese grator.Would San Fran have him back?
BB will wait until Owens is most vulnerable and then offer him a lowball, incentive filled one year deal.Maybe...I think Owens may have to swallow some pride and take less cash.

Interesting take. I think TO is narcissistic enough to take a smallish contract but loaded with incentives because he'll be extremely confident he'll reach the numbers he needs to get.Out of the NFL for 2010 (and possibly forever) because he and his agent still think he is worth much more than any team is willing to pay him at this point in his career.I find it very hard to believe that TO will be humble enough to realize that to continue his NFL career he needs to take a SUBSTANTIAL pay cut from any team willing to give him the smallest (league minimum) amount of cash. I think he'd pull the "stubborn string" and retire because the NFL obviously does not know his true value and if no team was willing to pay him that value, he'd retire.Just my![]()

That makes sense. Cutler would love a big target to throw to.Chicago needs a WR1 big time.
What does that have to do with TO?Chicago needs a WR1 big time.
Unbelievable. I was going to post those exact 8 words then decided not to bother. I'm thinking like Peggy now. That's scary. What does that have to do with TO?Chicago needs a WR1 big time.
But NE obviously has to be mentioned because they're mentioned with every single high profile FA or trade possibility out there. It's a rule.No way he goes' to NE.He HATES Randy Moss. More importantly, Randy Moss HATES him.Having those two fighting on the sideline about who is getting the ball more would be comical, but hardly conducive to winning football.
Yep, just as Oakland is mentioned as a landing spot for every malcontent. Of course, TO has been mentioned for both.It seems to me not a lot of thinking goes into a lot of the posts concerning player movement. For TO, there has to be a need for an old, potentially locker room cancer who routinely throws his fellow team mates under the bus, with declining skills but who still thinks he's a superstar. Basically, that team would have to be one who is very short on WR talent with no good options at WR2 (TO is NOT a #1 any more) and doesn't mind the circus atmosphere publicity he'd bring. I think there are few places he's going to fit in.But NE obviously has to be mentioned because they're mentioned with every single high profile FA or trade possibility out there. Why are you surprised? He's not the TO of 2-3 years ago any more. Chicago has 4 pretty good WRs. And there is no way Martz and TO would be able to co-exist given their personalities and Martz' expectations. Chicago would be an absolutely horrible fit.IMO Chicago needs to sign him asap. Kind of surprised at the lack of interest he's getting... I know he comes with his baggage and all, but still.
While they all have potential, like any player I guess, outside of Hester...none of those WR's had played any significant playing time in the NFL before last season. IMO, they disappointed continually last year....giving up on routes....not fighting for the ball....etc. If that is pretty good WRs....then you have a very flexible definition. What do we know about Owens?-he is a very hard worker....practices...keeps himself in great shape...etc-he is a very good run blocker-he is a playmaker-he wants the ball-he wants to win-he likes to be in the spotlightIMO he is a great fit in Chicago....he can show these young WR's the hard work neccessary to succeed in the NFL. He can be the guy to go over the middle and not be affraid of getting hit. He can take the pressure off of these young WR's and Cutler to succeed right away....so they can develop naturally. He can run block and help out a horrible running game last season. If he causes too much drama....just cut him. But I don't think he was too bad with the Bills last season. Why are you surprised? Snyder never made a play for TO even when he was good. Shanny's running the show now and I see no reason for him to want an over-the-hill WR prima donna on the team, especially when he'll want to be paid like he's still a star. They have been cutting expensive vets this offseason, not adding them, and they have far larger needs in other places anyway. They're already talking to Antonio Bryant, and there are those of us who already like the prospects of a Moss-Thomas-Kelly-Cooley-Davis receiving corps, especially if Thomas and Kelly continue to improve. How about the Washington Redskins? I know Snyder has backed-off the scene and is no longer making news headlines but signing TO to play twice a year against the Cowboys would be an interesting move...
Owens will be 37 next season..not 32 or 33. Buffalo was really the only team courting Owens last season. If there is a market for Owens it will be very limnited. While they all have potential, like any player I guess, outside of Hester...none of those WR's had played any significant playing time in the NFL before last season. He turns 37 in december....but how much does that matter. Look at Jerry Rice, Brett Favre....etc. TO keeps himself in great shape....he hasn't had a ton of injuries throughout his career....and he run blocks well....meaning he can help a team even if he isn't catching the ball. The reason he is a good fit in Chicago is.....they have one year to make the playoffs or Lovie/Angelo/and the whole staff is fired. I would take any chance to improve the team to make the playoffs if my job was on the line(within reason). Why don't the Bears sign TO and Sharper to make that run?Owens will be 37 next season..not 32 or 33. Buffalo was really the only team courting Owens last season. Exactly. I'd just add that yeah, he'll be 37 next year but at the age of 36 he still managed to put up over 800 yards and 5 TDs on one of the worst passing offenses in the league. You put him in a potent offense with a good QB and I've got to think that those Buffalo numbers would be his floor...He turns 37 in december....but how much does that matter. Can he beat out Ted Ginn Jr??Todem said:If he ends up in either Miami, Seattle or Chicago he will be a great value this season. Those teams have good QB's and need a #1 guy bad.I hope he ends up in Miami! I could see a 75-80 reception season with 1200 and 8-9 TD's even at 37 years old. The man is a beast.
The man is also old, and not the player he used to be. He barely broke 1,000 yards with Tony Romo and Dallas two years ago, and you think he could get 1,200 yards with Miami?Todem said:I hope he ends up in Miami! Brandon Marshall had issues in denverCutler doesn't have the mental toughness to be on the same team as TO........TO would be punkin him from day oneCarolina seems wayyyyyyyy to obvious.....I think he would excel again there....I think Moore will be a player at QB and that offense would be sick with that running game and those two WR's.........
