I was out at brunch
Ok, I am going to update this with today's picks and see where he stand as we enter the final rounds...

I was out at brunch
Can you describe the brunch?
(Sorry, it's a crossover from KP's and 80's movie thread. I couldn't help it.)
Nice to see Buena Vista Social Club make it, they were a late cut for me
I had to quit that thread. Breakfast Club reference?

36. The Needle and the Damage Done (Harvest, 1972)
Neil's feelings about and commentary on the seedier side of the counterculture didn't just surface during the "ditch trilogy." It was right there on his most popular album. Neil was witnessing his close friend Danny Whitten of Crazy Horse deteriorate from heroin addiction, and this song was his reaction. "I sing the song because I love the man / I know that some of you don't understand." No one wanted to hear this message in 1972, but Neil knew it had to be heard. He wrapped it in a gorgeous melody so people would listen, and they did, making this one of his most beloved songs.
Love a septuple. Makes it much easier for me with the spreadsheet!
Hadn't thought about that! When we exchanged lists, DrIanMalcolm told me he thought there was one song that would be a consensus #1. I said "Do you mean Bohemian Rhapsody?" He said, "no, that never entered my mind." He was talking about The Weight. But yeah, my money would have been on Bohemian Rhapsody. I know there's at least one #1 vote for it (not me or DrIan) if the participant does what I think they will do.Songs updated: Suite Judy is surging but so is Welcome to the Jungle and The Weight. Keep an eye on Bohemian Rhapsody though. This has been a Queen dominated draft and it wouldn't surprise me if that song crept to the top in the final rounds.
What I said in my Neil countdown:

Hey, at least it didn't have Sugar Mountain's fate.

He posted here that he thought there was a clear #1, and I assumed he meant Bohemian Rhapsody, too.

I'm back!
And yes, The Weight was the one I was thinking of.
Will scroll through a bit of this, but I don't expect to respond to any of it save the last page, given it's just been too long.![]()

Djawadi has done quite a bit of stuff. I like when a composer, like John Williams, goes the leimotif route for their compositions.Andy Dufresne:
2- Dr. Ford- Ramin Djawadi

2- I knew the name but couldnt figure out where. He scored the Game of Thrones theme as it turns out. Interesting that this from Westworld was rated so high on a list. Would love to hear the drafters voice here. I mean maybe its a familiarity thing, but I would have chosen the GOT one over this but Ive never watched Westworld. German? From Iranian heritage. I assumed British of Indian heritage. Never assume.

Nice afternoon so I decided I should listen to today's playlist while hiking with the dog in the state park behind my house. My back was hurting a bit, so I took a muscle relaxer first, which I blame for my predicament. You see, thanks to my loopiness, I grabbed my wireless headphones instead of the wired ones. Only 30 minutes in, I had to stop at the creek and wash my hands (had to do with Milo eating half of a stuffed toy last night - no need for further details) and my right headphone fell out into the water and got swept down the stream. I thought about trying to chase it but even in my goofy state, saw the bad outcomes that could ensue (blood thinners and slippery rocks don't mix). Anyway, I guess I won't be able to listen to the rest of the playlist till tomorrow morning - Amazon says my new earbuds will be here by 6 am.

I looked at the top 50 (so far). I at least like every one of these but LOVE the ones I've bolded. Only one I haven't seen is Thief.

That’s going to be 203 artist points for some act. Kind of like when point values are tripled on Family Feud and the family getting smoked all game finally guesses the #1 answer and comes back to win.Tomorrow we have an artist with a septuple-up. Will it be Queen putting this all but out of reach, or will another artist make a surge?![]()
