Where to report a bad lawyer? (1 Viewer)

She wants the divorce completed too which is why he's supposed to amend it.

knowing her she is too busy getting knocked up by random men and scoring heroin to stay on top of him which is why I try to.
You've never answered this question.  Who told this lawyer to prepare the revised decree.  You?  Your wife?  The Court?

If it was just you or your wife, I don't see your recourse with the bar.  Call your wife and tell her to get her lawyer off her ### or bite the bullet and draft the thing yourself.  If it was the Court, well you have an obvious place to direct your complaints to.

I don't recall. Once the DNA test came back I never had to go back to court and he told me he would amend the paperwork to a "no fault"

I read your advice.

i called the guy again and he told me he will have it done in a couple of weeks. If he doesn't do it this time I'm reporting him to the bar and calling several times every day until it's done
"Hi, lawyer people? It's MC RokNMagic. One of your lawyer guys isn't lawyerin' too good and I need him start lawyerin' better.  I suggest you get on this as I have been trolling a message board for advice and I will do the opposite of what they say while I make up another craptastic story about my life.  You have as long as you need to do nothing about this...or else."

I wouldn't say that.

They know me only by my Christian name

So this guy shouldn't be telling you he's going to do this and then not do it, but I doubt your jurisdiction has a rule against it.  Maybe a complaint to the bar would scare him, but maybe not.

Only your wife can make this guy prepare a divorce decree.  She's his client.  You're not.  I suspect that she might not be so interested in having the divorce finalized as you might think.  Your remedy is probably to draft your own divorce petition and serve her.  If she won't respond, then get a default.

This is all kinds of wrong

do you think before you post or do you drink heavily in the afternoon?

I think MC Gas Money should file paperwork for a 5150 against RoknRole to have him committed to a facility where he can't use the Internet. For being a danger to himself and others.

Preferably in Dallas, with a new haircut, and a plastic set of food toys, so he can play Food Truck before med time.

Yes, I understand how the logistics of the process works.

ETA: Forget it.  If you're who I think you are, I tried to gently help/point you in the right direction years ago when this all started and you didn't listen.  Just go on continuing making ridiculous internet postings about this instead of, you know, listening to a lawyer who practices the applicable type of law in the jurisdiction you're dealing with.
He is exactly who you think he is. MC Gas Money, bluemagic et al. The name changes, but unfortunately the quality of the posts/stories does not.

Ahh the pattern continues. He asks for advice regarding ludicrous situations and then starts lashing out at those trying to legitimately help him. Some things never change.

Assuming we're talking AZ, that doesn't make sense.  Arizona is a "no fault state" and fault is essentially never a factor for calculating child support.

My guess is that he's amending the decree to specifically state that paternity is not established (since there would otherwise be a legal presumption that you're the father) and, ideally, that mother acknowledge that "X" has paternity, etc.

WTF.  There's nothing inaccurate or wrong in his post.

Also, good luck filing a successful bar complaint against your opposing party's counsel.

I'd like to start doing that.

Once again you are completely oblivious

should change your name to Lead Exposure

If sitcoms from the 80's have taught me anything, there are always weddings being performed at the courthouse by a judge.  Go sit in on one, you don't need to know the people. When the judge asks if anyone has a reason why they shouldn't be wed, that's when you state your case. The floor is yours, take all the time you need and make sure to bring all of your paperwork. This is a little known loophole.

Hmm

i can use my story to save another mans life?

No I haven't considered that since I have no idea what the cotter act is
It arose in response to the case of Gabe v. Kaplan wherein Judge Vincent Barbarino ruled that the plaintiff is not entitled to be welcomed back into the fold by a wife who was clearly too hot for him nor should he be airing his life issues to a bunch of thinly drawn stereotypes.

You should follow his advice.  I believe he was a pre-law major his first semester at Faber.

I've begun calling 1-2 times a week and I'm still getting a run around.

I'm filing a complaint with the NYS bar association.

Should I hire a lawyer to sue him? Can I sue him?

I called twice today.

Last week he told me his mother died and this week he told me he had surgery.

I told him I don't care one bit since he doesn't care one bit about getting me that paperwork and I told him I will call multiple times every day until he sends it.

Soon after that I will start emailing 100 times a day.

He told me he will come in tomorrow and type up the paperwork.

I told him I will talk to him Monday morning and afternoon.

I still don't understand why this guy is supposed to do anything.
He is my wife's lawyer and drafted the

original false documents which now have to be amended because all the claims in it were bogus.

why wouldn't he have to do it? Since his client lost he can just walk away?

Is that how this works?

He loses the case so he can just drop her and I have to get a lawyer to draft new documents and have her sign them?

I don't even know what this means. Why would her petition have to be amended?

Originally I was being sued for divorce on the grounds of spousal abuse which was a lie and unsubstantiated.

I was also being sued for custody, child support and attorney fees for a child which turned out to not be mine.

The original case was rejected by the court so now I was told by him it has to be amended to a no fault divorce. Now it's a few years later and he has not bothered to send me the amended paperwork so that I can sign and return it to make the divorce final.

If your wife wanted him to do it, it would have been done. I always file a cross-petition when respresenting a respondent in a divorce. Just in case the petitioner drags her feet. I haven't seen you post anything that indicates that he has an obligation to amend her petition. You need to just file a petition yourself if you want it finalized.

What do you recommend as my next course of action ?
