I don't think it's out of the question Dixon could go undrafted. I suspect a team will take him in the 5th or 6th, but he could be a street FA come Monday.
I'd be shocked if he goes undrafted. The guy was a virtual lock for the Heisman and he had the Ducks in the mix for a national championship last season until he got hurt. I watched a lot of Oregon games last season and I've got to say Dixon is not just a runner. He is a very savvy passer as well. Sure he is a risk/ reward pick but if he hadn't been injured he would be in the mix along with guys like Henne, Brohm, Flacco, etc. as a late first to second round pick.
I wouldn't be shocked to see Dixon go in the third round. I would be shocked to see him go undrafted.
:(
Troy Smith won the Heisman, had prodigious stats, played for a huge program...and went in the 5th roundCharlie Ward won the Heisman, had prodigious stats, played for a huge program...and went undrafted
Dennis Dixon didn't win the Heisman, had prodigious stats before getting hurt, played for a quasi-huge program...
Again, I don't say he WILL go undrafted, just that
given his size, injuries and limited experience as a full-time starter in a pro style offense, I hardly think it would be surprising.
