Is the poll option down?Dez.
I like both players for dynasty purposes and started a thread last year that highlighted a lot of information on Mike Williams, but I had the opportunity to trade Mike Williams away straight up in one of my leagues for Dez and I took the trade.I think Dez is the bigger risk for maturity/character related issues (which is funny as that was a big knock against Mike Williams going into the draft last year), but his physical talent is better then Williams (not by an enormous gulf, but by just enough to make a difference to me).

I like Dez Bryant's skills more, but it looks like he will get suspended at some point.

At this point I would take Williams, Dallas has 2 too many elite options to go with Dez for me to count on him every week.

It is close. I own Williams in 2 PPR leagues and don't think I would do a straight up trade in either for Dez. They both had character issues coming into the league, but Williams seems to be moving past his, while with Dez I am not so sure that is the case. Plus, I agree with adrenaline that Williams seems to be in a better situation for the time being.

Mike Williams is safer and the focal point of the tb passing offense.

Dez has to fight for targets with a slew of other talented receiving options.

I like Mike Williams just a little bit better for the following reasons:

1. Tony Romo just turned 31. Josh Freeman just turned 23. There's just more uncertainty going forward in Dallas, especially with guys like Dez saying it should be an open competition for the starting QB position and Romo aging. Freeman is still improving and already has a great season under his belt (25 TDs, 6 INTs) and seems to have a great relationship with Williams. Definitely better than the connection between Romo and Dez.

2. Dez saying it should be an open competition b/w Romo and Kitna is just bad form...its not his place. Just one of many, many examples of questionable behavior by Bryant off the field and as a teammate. The only stories we've heard in the offseason about Williams have been about how much time he's spent with Freeman working on routes and learning each of the WR positions.

3. Dez seems to get injured a bit often. Not sure if that'll be a big issue for him or not going forward.

4. Much more competition for targets in Dallas as Romo seems to love Miles Austin (who doesn't say maybe Kitna should be the starter) and a TE in Witten who annually gets 150 targets. I'm not real high on A. Benn, so I don't see any threats to Williams being the long term, undisputed #1 target in Tampa.

For the record, it was Martellus Bennett, not Dez Bryant, who said Kitna should be given a chance to compete with Romo.

Mike Williams for me.

I do think MW would have been a 1st rounder if it weren't for character issues which were much worse than concerns for Dez at draft day.

Dez did impress me last year I gotta say so he's in the conversation for me. I get the feeling he will often be on injury reports.

Very close at this point as Dez has off field issues and gets dinged quite frequently.

I think Dez is the more talented football player but that doesn't always translate to the field.

In redrafts this year I have Mike Williams ranked above Dez FWIW.

Can anyone enlighten me on why they think Dez Bryant is so much more physically talented than Mike Williams?

They're practically identical in size. Their 40 times are also basically equal. Williams ran a 4.53 at the combine, Bryant a 4.52 and 4.68 at private workouts. Bryant has better vertical and broad jump statistics, while Williams was the more impressive player in the 3-cone and short shuttle.

Now, to what's actually important, performance on the field in the NFL. Mike Williams dominated as soon as he stepped on the field at One Buc Place. He dominated mini-camp, he dominated training camp, he then dominated the pre-season, which then translated to the regular season. He had the best rookie season of any WR not named Randy Moss or Michael Clayton with 964 yards and 11 TDs. Dez Bryant managed just 561 yards and 6 TDs.

One of these players is attending offseason workouts with his QB and offensive teammates working on routes and scheme. The other is hiding from his jewelry bill. It looks like Mike Williams has put his past behind him and grown up. Dez still doesn't get it.

Mike Williams is Josh Freeman's favorite target. Tony Romo favors Miles Austin.

This isn't as clear cut as some of you are making it out to be, and I'd take Mike Williams over Dez in a heartbeat.

Disclaimer: I'm a normally pessimistic Buc fan that thinks TB is an offense and team very much on the rise.

Deion didn't good things to say about Dez at this moment. Seems like his posse could drag the kid down.

"It's hard to talk to a person when they have millions, man, because there is so much noise in their life," Sanders said. "Everybody around them is employed, and they have 'yes men.' You gotta start hiring a 'no man.' Somebody who is going to tell you no and somebody who is going to tell you the truth, and a lot of these guys don't, and when it comes to him with a lot of things, I had to cut my umbilical cord with him because a lot of things people do not know about."

Bryant's behavior isn't consistent with the example that Sanders wants to set for the children he's mentoring.

"I'm trying to open schools and get these kids prepared for the future, and I can't have that on my record saying that: How am I going to send my kids to your school and this is what you are turning out over here?" Sanders said. "No, I am not turning that out over there. I have nothing to do with that, and I had to cut that cord because you can't keep doing the same old things that you've always done. You are going to get the same old things you've always got, so that's why I had to separate myself.

"I love him. I see him from time to time. I pray for him, but as a unit we had to separate."

Mike Williams was WR # 14

Dez was WR # 50

it is what it is. I would have a real hard time moving the 14 in his rookie season for any player not proven in a dynasty. Chances are the best is yet to come from MW as in top 5 finishes.

about 2014

(how long it will take the Dez supporters to finally agree he will be WR2 from this class)
