Which backs have hit the wall? (1 Viewer)

I nominate Thomas Jones despite finally having a good game.

Also up for consideration Ahman Green, Shaun Alexander, Deuce McAlister, Fred Taylor, Cadillac Williams

Deuce and Cadillac have big time injuries, so it's a different situation, but I agree with the rest. I don't think Jones has hit the wall, but good game aside yesterday, he clearly benefits when he has a strong OL (like he did in Chicago). Finally the Jets OL got some push yesterday and he had some success.

I didn't expect much out of Green or Taylor. But Alexander in two years has gone from top back to a has been

Alexander was a fantastic back because he fit well in to the system and had a great cast around him. I'm not knocking his talent - he is/was VERY talented. But ultimately, too much change in the O-line and supporting cast along with a couple years of age have made him ineffective.

How about Jamal Lewis? McGahee?

I included Caddy because he simply cannot seem to stay healthy.

Edge seems to have avoided the wall some.

Don't most backs deal with this too though? Is there a guy in San Diego that started there three seasons ago? How about LJ?

Absolutely. I happen to think that some backs have enough talent of their own that changes in personel have a smaller affect, i.e. someone like LT2. Alexander simply isn't talented enough now (for whatever reason: age, lack of top-tier talent in the first place, etc.) to overcome it.

He seemed to "hit the wall" about the same time Hutch left, which is about the time Chester put up 1200 and AD runs wild...GB poison pills!! :lmao:

Yeah, Seattle got pwned in that "trade"

I thought Edgerrin James was going to hit the wall this season, but he seems to still have something left in the tank.

Don't get me wrong, I love Warrick Dunn, but why is he still in the league AND getting 20 touches a game?!?

I'd say he's hit the wall.

Cedric Benson, Julius Jones, Tatum Bell, and Shaun Alexander are also bums.

Fred Taylor still looks good. Ahman Green looks okay but he's heading towards the end. Warrick Dunn and Shaun Alexander have hit the wall and broken every bone in their body.
