Which backup/WW QB performs week 5 (1 Viewer)

With a few QB's on bye's who's a standout "backup" QB to use?

Guy's maybe the likes of:

Christian Ponder, Min home against Tenn

Matt Hasselbeck, Ten At MInn

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Buf At San Fran

Andrew Luck, Ind Home Against GB

Ryan Tannehill, Mia At Cincy

Or others, but I thought these may be the best of those usable.

Myself I want to say Ponder but to date only 4 passing Td's, now

Fitzpatrick has 12 td's but yah there playing San Fran, I'm not a

fan of Hasselbeck playing at Minn either, Tannehill should get some

pressure from the Cincy line and if they block could be nice, Luck

at home and against GB might not be bad as there not an stout def.

I'm honestly not sure who I'd pick this week, Fitzpatrick I think

would be a leap of faith that he keeps it up, but worth a chance?

(This isn't a "who I should play question", I'm not planning any)

I'd be curious what others have on this week..

GB ranks in the top half of the league against the pass and Capers historically eats up rookie QBs. I'd be hesitant to use Luck even if it's projected to be a shoot out. You can expect a couple of INTs.

TEN has given up the 2nd most TDs through the air this year (10) and are extremely QB friendly (5th most points to QBs). The odds of Ponder getting at least 20 points is good. Rudolph is also going to have a big day.

Fitzpatrick has been on fire despite the turnovers but I think we can expect his FF numbers to come down this week, but only slightly. SF's secondary is rated a bit too high after facing Sanchez IMO. You can pass on them, just not excessively. He's not a horrible start.

Cincy's secondary at the quarter mark is a bit inflated as well. Look who they've faced (BAL, CLE, WAS and JAC), not exactly pass happy offenses. That being said, I'm not sold on Tannehill yet. His performances have been too polarizing too trust, I'd like to see some consistency before giving him the nod in any situation.

I'd go with Ponder, it seems as if his floor is 20 points this week tbh.

Wrong forum. Should go to AC...thanks. :IBTL:
This isn't a "help my team" question.Just a general weak/backup/ww QB assessment for this week.Any other QB's to add here of this type is just fine if you have any.(yu know guy's that aren't sure #1's that someone may "Have" to play)I just picked the ones to start this thread as possible playable guys there.(might even be guy's in someones QBBC approach)We've got "WW" WR an RB weekly threads but not much dedicated to the QB's. (not specifically WW here but definitely the second string/backup guys though)

I'm with yu, but the thing I'd seen with Cincy's def though is the sacks.Coming into the week leading the league with 16, was thinking pressureon that young QB could mean a bit of trouble for an inexperienced player?(which would go back to your not trusting his performance yet as well) :)

It does kind of seem like a WDIS question. Out of those listed I'd roll with Ponder, he seems solid this year and TEN def has been pretty bad. I wouldn't touch Fitzpatrick personally, SF D is going to bury him.

It doesn't have to be the guy's I listed...

I just thought those guy's might be the obvious best backup type choices for week 5.

We could throw these guy's in the mix:

Brandon Weeden, Cle At the Giants.

Matt Cassel, KC Home against Balt.

Russell Wilson, Sea, Sea At Carolina.

Seems like the last of the almost usable backup/ww type guys here.

And I don't see anyone using any of those over the others mentioned.

Out of those 3 I'd use Russell Wilson, an cringe while doing so there.

---------------

From the guy's mentioned I'd lean either:

Christian Ponder, Min Home against Tenn

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Buf At San Fran

I see more upside in Fitzpatrick but certainly a lower floor in Ponder.

A lot of people are pretty high on Tannehill,

I actually have not gotten to see him play yet.

All the rest in here I've seen play, so I'd have

a hard time recommending him this week myself here.

For this week I'd look at the 2 I mentioned just above

the last post, but I'm all ears for any other thoughts.
