Which four players should I keep heading into my dynasty draft (1 Viewer)

12-team 0.5 PPR league. Start QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, 2 Flex (WR, TE, RB), K, DEF

Keepers are due later this month. My roster is:

QB - Russell Wilson

RB - Jay Ajayi, Eddie Lacy, LeGarrette Blount, Doug Martin, Duke Johnson, Jr., Andre Ellington

WR - Alshon Jeffery, Brandin Cooks, DeVante Parker, Kelvin Benjamin, Marquise Lee, Martavis Bryant

TE - Hunter Henry

K - Santos

DEF - Cowboys

Leaning for sure with Jeffery, and Ajayi. Dangling Cooks on the trade market to see what I can get for him but would otherwise keep him as my 3rd keeper. Thoughts?

Received an offer of Demaryius Thomas and my 7th round pick (we are allowed a minimum of 4 keepers and a maximum of 6 and so the first round of picks is the "5th" round, the "6th round" is the 2nd round of picks, etc.) for Brandin Cooks and a 6th round pick. I think it's a solid trade. Thoughts? I would still just keep 4 keepers and this allows me a chance to draft before some other teams.

I would keep Cooks.   You give up Cooks and your 6th for Thomas and his 7th?  I want to make sure I read this right... and really no matter which way, I keep Cooks, he's the better value player.

Okay. I think it's a decent trade in that I still get a WR1 and get a chance to grab a strong pick early in the draft. I don't have a 5th or 6th round pick due to other trades so this gives me a chance to keep my WR position strong and draft earlier than otherwise.

okay, I am missing something.  Your title says you want to keep 4 players, so does this mean you traded your 5th and 6th rounders away, which prevent you from holding up to 6?

If you don't have a sixth round pick due to other trades how are you able to trade Cooks and a 6th rounder for DT and a 7th rounder?

As far as the 4 players I would keep they would be Ajayi, Cooks, Jeffrey, and Lacy, Bryant, or Blount (whichever has better reports out of camp).

Unless you are getting a pick in the first half of the 5th round where you can get one of the top rookies, I don't like the deal.  I like Thomas a lot, but there is a big age difference between him and Cooks, so Cooks is the better long term keeper.  IMO that fact is more important in limited keeper leagues like this vs. traditional dynasty leagues since in a traditional dynasty you can invest in a lot of young guys to mitigate taking a more veteran player to help you win now.

You already have a WR1 in Cooks.  This sounds like trying to talk yourself into a trade just for the sake of making one.  It's not necessary.  In a keep 4-6 league, who cares if you're drafting before other teams get a chance to in the 5th/6th round?  The top 48-72 players are already off the board, not able to be drafted by you.

The way you worded the trade has got some people confused in here also.  So it's Cooks and your 7th, for DT and a 6th.  Moving up one round isn't worth that drop off at WR imo.  Until we see if Denver is going to turn Lynch loose at QB and he develops a good rapport with DT, that's a downgrade at WR that you're not going to make up by moving from the 7th to the 6th round.

I do not plan to make this trade. The offer was Brandin Cooks and my 7th for Demaryius Thomas and their 6th pick. Because I have traded away my 5th and 6th round picks, I can only keep 4 players and will not draft until the 7th round. I have multiple picks in rounds 7 -10, so I'm set up well there. I was hoping to try and land someone like Mixon or Corey Davis but I'm set up well with Ajayi, Cooks, Jeffery, and Bryant. Bryant has some risk with his previous suspensions but his ability and upside is too good to pass up and keeping someone like Doug Martin, Lacy, etc. kind of keep me in the same amount of risk.

i don't understand this facuation with Bryant.  Big Ben doesn't trust him so do you think he will throw a lot to him???  I would pick Parker or Hunter over Bryant, and lean towards Parker as I don't think Hunter is a 4th rounder type player (but he's close).  maybe pair up a couple of players to some weaker team to get one better keeper.

How can you not understand the fascination with Bryant, but then prefer Parker? Bryant has shown 10 times more talent than Parker has, he's both bigger and faster and has a better QB. He has more off field issues obviously, but that's more a dynasty problem than a 4 keeper problem. Last time he was on the field Bryant was a big play waiting to happen, and was a low end WR1 for about half a season.

and 10 times more stupidity.  So, you think Ben would throw him the ball with Brown being one of the best receivers and that he doesn't trust Bryant??? My preference would be to keep Hunter since it is a TE type league, and I have him close to being a 4th rounder.

What does the bolded statement even mean? The last time Bryant played he was a top-10 WR for half a season, that was with Brown on the other side(and being the #1 overall WR) and with Roethlisberger at QB. Nobody is suggesting Bryant is better than Brown, but that is irrelevant to this.

Also, how is this a TE type league? 0.5 PPR is hardly TE friendly, especially when compared to WR's. What do you like about Henry so much that he is worth close to a 4th rounder? He strikes me as a borderline starter at TE. Maybe top-10, but maybe not.

Looking over this post closer, do your keepers cost you your top-4 picks? Because if that is the case, it might not be a bad strategy to not keep anyone at all, and get those top-4 picks. Worst case you could just draft these same guys back.

big word there... WAS and a 1 1/2 years ago...and now that Brown is more established with Ben...    and I have Hunter with the same value as Parker and Benjamin... and I have have both these receivers ahead of Bryant.  Bryant will never be on my roster.
