which NFL "Can't Miss" prospect (1 Viewer)

Gallery, Mandarich, Rogers, and Arrington were the four that immediately came to mind for me.

I honestly thought Arrington was going to be LT 2.0

I also thought Andre Wadsworth was as can't miss as they come. Dude was a monster off the edge at Florida St

Seriously? He had a pretty decent career. I would say Arrington and Gallery were OK NFL players as well. Not as good as many hoped, but some are way worse. Carlos Rogers has just as much hype and was out of the league in the blink of an eye.

He wasn't as dominant as I thought he would be, but he was far from a bust. He made the Pro Bowl in his 2nd through 4th years and it was knee injuries that ruined his career.

Plus, I don't know if I've seen anyone better at stopping 3rd-and-inches or 4th-and-inches runs. His ability to time his leap over the pile and immediately halt all forward momentum was unreal.

Oh, I know he wasn't a "bust" in the true sense of the word - just that he never came close to what I thought he'd be, whether it be by injuries or just not being as good as I thought he'd be (that would hold true even if he never got hurt, IMO). That's not his fault - it's mine for a missed projection.

Blair Thomas....Jet fans thought they had a HOF RB drafted 2d in the draft....off the team in 3 years...next RB off the board? Emmit Smith - oops

The only round one guy I've whiffed on was Crabtree, I've missed a couple that I incorrectly doubted (Stafford and maybe Cam stick out) but I've avoided a lot of landmines in guys like Moreno, Beanie, Sanchez, etc. Only about a decade deep in this game though so I can't reach back too far.

EDIT: the reason I'm just focusing on the last few years is scouting isn't the same now as it was a decade and obviously more ago, in this age if you whif it's real bad given all the info available and $ in the business. It was easier to miss on these things the longer back you go.
:lmao: - With a track record like that, NFL teams should be fighting for your services.
I agree! :excited:

Yeah, the guy was out of the NFL after 6 years of total under achievment. His best year was just over 800 yds and 7 Tds, which wasn't totally bad. He was supposed to be a lock at WR thoguh and being out of the NFL by the time you are 28 is a big time miss.

Charles Rogers, not Carlos...
