Which NFL Coaches Will Be Fired This Season? (1 Viewer)

In order of occurrance: Jack Del Rio, (week 8) Wade Phillips, (end of season) Lovie Smith (end of season, as I think they will choke down the stretch), and Eric Magini (end of season as Holmgren will not fire a coach mid year.

Wade Phillips is a guy that I have on this list every year, but I think this season with the Superbowl being in Dallas will finally be the nail in his coffin. If he doesn't get fired, then I firmly believe that he and Jerry Jones are having an extra-marital affair.

I'd put money on John Fox. He's a goner for sure. First dead coach. Lame duck as it is, him and his GM.

Mark it down. Calling it.

Fox has to go. Same with JDR. Both are dead ducks on two teams that are just falling apart.

Also, Jerry Jones could make the cut alot earlier than anyone thinks. Wade Phillips is terrible.

Del Rio...even if he can go 8-8

Wade for sure. Boys are 0-2, the coaches don't seem to gel right.

John Fox is DOA, the Bucs loss today was horrible. I'm happy for the Bucs though Freeman showing major signs of improvement

Spagnola...1-15 last year, could lose another 12 or 13 this year.

Eric Mangini

Whoever said Tom Cable...only because of Al Davis. Cable showed tremndous skills today as a HC by yanking Campbell at halftime. That is what you pay the QB2 for. Gradkowski has game experience and it was put to good use today to get the win for Oakland. Don Shula used to pull guys all the time and had a great back up QB in Don Strock who was never a starter but could come into a game for relief.

I'm not so sure about Del Rio getting fired this year. I think Wayne Weaver loves him and is more concerned about filling seats. If they make a change, it will be after the season.

Cable saved his job today with the benching of JC. Reports were all over that insiders were calling for Cable's head if they had started 0-2.

Technically he won't be fired, but Fox won't be renewed.
:goodposting: And I hope he takes the OC with him.
You talking about the genius that (with Matt Moore at QB) threw the ball from the 4 yard line until it was finally intercepted last week? That bum?
Yeah, that's him.. The same guy who keeps one of the best RB tandems in the league on the sidelines while Goodson is handed the ball two or three plays in a row straight up the middle. Then on 4th and 3 he brings in Stewart and gives it to him off tackle. Why there aren't more plays to get Williams in open space, like say, oh... screen passes.. is beyond me.

They are making a claim for worst use of personnel. That's 2 weeks in a row your #1 & #2 RBs are sanding on the sidelines when the game is near the end.

ManginiLosing to TB and KC is a killer. I don't see a win for them in a long, long time.
Bingo. Mangini is GONE- not just because we lost these two games, but because these were arguably the two easiest games on the schedule. The next 7 games are absolute brutality, there is a very serious chance going 0-9. If that happens, Mangini can win out and he will still be gone. Holmgren will not tolerate that kind of performance. He will however wait until the end of the year to dump him. It's too bad- I actually kind of like Mangini. But he cannot get his players to stop doing stupid ####.

Adding to your call...Cowher will be brought in before the season is over.
Nope. You don't win the lockout season by paying a coach a salary. You win the lockout year by not signing any free agents and having to pay guaranteed money. You win the lockout season by not having a 1st round draft choice this year and having to pay guaranteed money. You win a lockout season by having one of the youngest teams in the NFL not burning up their prime years not playing.

The I formation, double tight, play-action on a 3rd and 8 was a nice touch too.

Cowher is smart enough that he will be awaiting the off season phone call from Jery Jones's accountant that the biggest coaching payday has been wire-transfered to his bank account.
As it looks now Mr Richardson is in no way shape or form going to pay the 6-10 million per year that its going to take to get Cowher. Richardson will probably just get a cheap assistant from somewhere. I think Cowher would drool over the Panthers roster I just dont see the owner paying him what he will demand. Also, I dont think Cowher wants any part of the madness that is the Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones.

Of course money talks but I would be surprised if Cowher would want to have to deal with Jones' interference.

Good call. Looks like you were the only guy in this thread to even mention him.
