Stompin' Tom Connors

Going into the season, who do you think is the better redraft season-long play behind Fat Rob, Chris Thompson or Samaje Perine?
Thompson has a solid role as the 3rd down passing back. Gets a bump for PPR, but don't really see him with a path to more volume without injury to Kelly or Perine.
Perine has a good college pedigree and skill-set, NFL-wise and for this backfield. But he hasn't done much in preseason, and still has a learning curve for the pro game (like pass pro -- has Perine struggled in preseason in this area?).
Looking at rankings as of today, seems a consensus with the FBGs around Thompson ranking higher than Perine -- in some cases meaningfully so. That said, my gut is telling me that the only real threat to Perine moving towards a true timeshare with Kelly is Perine himself -- can he step up and perform consistently with the carries he gets early on?
For me, in a PPR, Thompson is really appealing, but sticking with Perine for now -- I think the rook gets his sea legs early mid-season and pushes for a split timeshare. Risking a boom/bust ceiling against a solid consistent floor -- but I'm giving Perine some patience for now. (That said, hard not to look closely at guys like Smallwood and Burkhead as well.)
What say you?
