A contestant gets five steal attempts throughout the draft. No player maybe stolen back by the player who originaly picked the player. If your player is stolen by another team you can either re-select that pick form the player pool or you have the right to steal any player that was picked after the player that was stolen from you was selected. A steal attemp may never go past one previous round. You only get once chance to steal a guy. If have an opportunity to steal a guy and you pass you cannot go back and steal him with your next selection unless someone has stolen your player and you are making your makeup selection. You may never steal a pick from yourself.

Rule suggestion:

If you time out/pass, you lose your steal powers for that pick, even if that makeup player is stolen from you later(can only select from the player pool then.)

Foils my draft at the end of every round strategy and deters timeouts.

Rules updated with above rule. Closes some loopholes. There should be no distinction between make up pick and a steal. If your player is stolen, and if you choose to use your makeup selection by stealing another player, then your selection counts as a steal as well.

I figured the Next guy up in the draft is On The Clock like normal but, the guy who's pick was stolen can ALSO pick whenever they want....

I thought the draft continues with both the team losing a player to a steal & the current team OTC having an equal shot at the next player chosen/stolen. At least that is how I understood it. Could be wrong of course.
 
If you look at post 60 in the discussion thread, and comment number for, reneauz prosposed a scenario (#4)where a pick was stolen but the clock continued on (4.05 stolen at 4.10 but repicked while owner 5.02 OTC). This was not challenged by Fro, so my assumption is that stealing will continue to occur as the draft goes along, and it's everyone's responsibility to keep checking in to repick/steal as needed. ETA: otherwise, this draft will take quite a while, unless everyone sticks around for about the entirety of the day since you'll not know when your pick was stolen and the clock resets for a repcik (assume that gets a 8 hr clock also).

So, sorry about making a pick. I reacted when I received the PM. Please PM Jeff P. when I am up. I checked in at the Public Library at Clarksdale, Mississippi, the "Home of the Blues", which may be where our draft is headed to the blues.Jeff has my first round pick (as all of you do now) and my cell number. I will be in a work meeting from now till around 1:00, but please leave voice message as I may be able to pick up.Again, sorry about the error, but I did not read the whole thread early this AM, just responded.

Currently OTC, I have..... Old Milwaukee (till 1:37 EDT), Pasquino (till 3:30 EDT), Rudnicki (till 6:13 EDT) & Fro (till 6:21 EDT).

Sound right?

eta: This scenario seems right to me as I've yet to see anything differently in this or the signup thread. I'll be around most of the day and checking in frequently. I'll keep track in this fashion until Fro gets back to clarify issues. ?Hopefully around lunchtime?

Not trying to influence the draft in any way or take over for Fro, just thought somebody should keep track of things until solid answers are supplied.

This is correct as I see it as well.

I'm so confused...what is the timing for replacement picks and for regular picks? 6 hours? 2 hours?
