Who are the Chiefs going to sign at RB? (1 Viewer)

Don't the Chiefs have to sign another RB??...for this week...any word on if they have had anyone in for workouts or anything?? Kolby has had about 10 carries in the NFL and even split time some while at Louisviuille...Surely they have to sign another RB or TWO. I think they'd have to sign someone TODAY.

Any ideas who they bring in??

Derrick Ross ran hard when given the chance in preseason, and as far as I know he is not on a team. He would be a good candidate.

I just got the call and I'm now Kolby's back-up. Apparently they saw me running to the bathroom in a Taco Bell and liked how I negotiated the traffic. Herm looked at the tape and agreed to give me a try since I kept both hands on my Chalupa at all times. What he didn't know is that my Chalupa was about to burst.

I am so f'in desperate that I'm hanging on this news... ugh.

I'm thinking that Rhodes or someone from Oakland might get moved. Jordan and Rhodes aren't being used, and Fargas and Bush seem like the long term guys there to me.

Other thoughts?

The only way Rhodes or Jordan can be 'moved' is to be dropped by Oakland. As vested veterans they could just become free agents if dropped. It was reported yesterday that Oakland did not activate Bush because they did not want to drop a RB and have him end up in KC.

So they wouldn't trade one? I imagine due to the inter-division rivalry? Good insight - thanks :goodposting:

Trading is not option because the trade deadline is over. No more trades until after the season.

Trade deadline for this season has passed. It was in October. Their contract salaries for next year are high enough next year (3M+) that teams will just wait for them to be dropped.

The Chiefs aren't going to sign anyone of note. They're looking to get younger. Surely they didn't see two injuries to LJ and Priest coming, but I don't think they were worried about trading Bennett away at all; it's not like they're going anywhere this season and they do like Kolby Smith.

This guy Gilbert Harris may get a token carry or two on Sunday but I think they'll work Jackie Battle - a guy who actually has some talent - up to speed as soon as possible and see if he can be a 4-8 carry type of guy for their last few games.

In the offseason, I'd expect them to bring in competition via the second day of the draft.

Thanks - Totally forgot about the trade deadline... I agree then, they'll try guys out Denver-style or just bring up a guy from within their system. We'll see what happens I guess...
