I'm in a ONE pt per tackle and big play redraft league. And these are the top 5 LB's in this scoring format.

1. James Anderson (CAR) SLB

2. Shaun Phillips (SD) OLB

3. Lawerence Timmons (PIT) ILB

4. James Harrison (PIT) ILB ???

5. Clay Mathews (GB) OLB

Who is the top MLB in a 4-3 so far. According to my league it is!!!

Curtis Lofton MLB

So what do you guys think about Beason, Willis, and LBs like that not being up there?

I think in a league such as yours where the scoring is so heavily skewed towards big plays, it is better to have a stud 3-4 OLB than it is to have a stud 4-3 MLB.

Im having trouble determining the scoring in your League but Mayo, Willis etc should perform well and most likely join Timmons & Lofton soon. I believe a valid point has been raised in reguards to scoring ie. A guy like "" could leave a great MLB in his dust on a great wk. <-- 3rd down rush the passer type

Heres a scenario to consider Wake had one sack last wk. He plays in GB after his bye (rut-roh) But maybe hes game planned for and sees some RB/FB chippin etc. On the other hand Denver has thrown the ball well, so this wk. against Balt. it could continue. There could be a chance DJ blitzes instead of pass protects on a few given plays. We really dont know Wake's sack quota, and DJ has pretty much meant his normal stat. The problem is that Wake has pretty much showed you that hes good for x amt of tackles, while Williams had 100 solos last Seaon. Id most want to start the player w the higher floor/higher ceiling, which of course is ______ ?

Im not sure about Beason, maybe teams should focus on run-blocking him. As far as other LB's, I would add D. Harris to the list as not really showing his stuff yet. I did read on Harris that he blitzed (called his own number) and the team was burned, while Scott took the blame (last season). Harris has vowed to increase his presence/performance in pass coverage. The Jets Def is standing pretty tall, but change can be good. D. Ryans is another guy who could change things up some.<-- I like Ryans stats just saying.

Im not sure what to say about Willis, other thn it probably would mean trading a RB to own him in my League.

Timmons is a BEAST - I think he could legitimately finish #1 overall in most formats. Having just moved to Pitt, I have the benefit of watching al of the games and he is ALWAYS around the ball, flying around. He's making big plays AND getting consistent tackle opportunities. The other guys are so high on that list each because of one massive week, but have been a bit below average in other weeks. In my primarily league, with 1pt/tackle, 3pt/big play format, here's how the weeks have broken down:LB1 - Anderson - 55 total / 13.75 avg. One big 25 pt week, but others were 12, 9 and 9. LB2 - Timmons - 50 total / 12.50 avg. High of 16.5 but never below 10. LB3 - Phillips - 46 total / 11.50 avg, most coming on a 28.5 outburst last week. 8.0, 3.0 and 6.5 in other weeks.LB4 - Harrison - 45.5 total, 11.38 avg. High of 25.5, but low of 3.0, and all three off weeks below 10 pts.

Anderson getting 12, 9, 9, each week is nothing to sneeze at. It hasn't been from one or two fluke big plays - he's just been racking up the tackles.

Dont count on him for the year though. Thomas Davis says he will be back and Anderson is just benefitting from him being out. He is not that good of a talent.

He certainly looked good against the Saints. And me personally, Im gonna go off of what I SAW rather than what I READ. Anderson looks the part of a stud IMO. Maybe Im wrong. Maybe he has just played good for a month, but I highly doubt Thomas Davis just comes back and replaces him if he continues to play the way he is.

ditto. and i'll 2nd the idea that just b/c TD is activated doesn't mean the panthers will rush him to the field as well. guy is coming off 2torn ACL's in like a year and a half. TD wasn't all that impressive as a SLB a few years ago........the panthers moved him over to WLB to make him more productive and better use his talents of just running freely as he 'was' a phenominal athlete. James is the best player on the team for SLB. i find what he's doing as a SLB in a tampa2 simply amazing. i really don't think the panthers would simply move Beason back to MLB. he was and is a WLB briggs style prototype and the panthers did draft connor in the 2nd round to play MLB(the only position he can really play) a year or 2 after Beason. Beason did dominate(moreso fantasy than nfl) but we've seen this happen before recently with similar players playing MLB/ILB(Witherspoon/DQ)
