Who are you benching / starting in Week 2 (1 Viewer)

Alexander vs. Atlanta  OR

Portis vs. Cowboys OR

Julius Jones vs. Redskins
Alexander seems like the obvious choice here.. unless i'm missing something
I read you, I am still a little miffed at Holmgren for completely ignoring him in the 2nd half last week when he was averaging over 6 yards a carry and they still had the lead. :hot:
True, but I think Holmgren realizes that was a mistake and run him ALOT more. Also, if Westbrook is able to amass over 100 total yds and a td vs ATL. Just think what Alexander will do with that O-line...
Thanks, I'm sure I'll be over it by the time I submit my lineup but I seriously don't get these coaches who don't run their meal ticket when they play on the road. Alexander was just getting started last week and the Jags were bringing all kinds of pressure so what does Holmgren do, throw the ball? :loco: I hope you're right that Holmgren has learned his lesson but it shouldn't take this long.

I'm starting...Gus FrerotteWillie ParkerRon DayneFrisman JacksonAlex SmithPatrick CraytonCourtney AndersonRian LindellI'm benching guys like CPep, Shaun Alexander, Chad Johnson and David Akers, cuz they suck. :sarcasm: for all you FBG "sharks" who overeact over Week 1. :wall:

I'm debating who to start @ WR2. Chambers vs Ty Law, TJ Housh, Drew Bennett vs Baltimore, Galloway or Matt Jones. :wall: Also thinking about benching Curtis Martin in favor of Larry Johnson in 2 leagues. :o Thinking about benching Dom Davis vs Pitt in favor of Tatum bell.In another league I'm debating my WR3 slot. Engram, Fergie, Battle or grab C. Rogers or Calico off the ww & drop one of those guys. :wall: :wall:

Big logjam at WR3 in a league were Walker went down. McCardell, Kevin Curtis, Arnaz Battle, Bobby Engram.
I like McCardell vs. Bailey with an injured shoulder
Dunno if Bailey is playing or not. Last I heard he was a GTD. Regardless, Bailey rarely covers McCardell even when healthy. Denver put him on Gates and Gonzo when playing SD and KC last season. It's also worth noting that Gates and Gonzo both put up two of their worst outings of the year against Denver. I suppose this week we'll see how much of it was Bailey and how much was Denver's stud LBs.

Yeah and the Denver D also had one of it's worst outings vs. Miami, which is a very suspect offense.. Even if Bailey will cover Gates, McCardell should post better numbers than the other options you have available to you..

Benching DJax in favor of Fitz.DJax had a touchdown, but I can't ignore the tough matchup and the insane number of targets Fitz got last week. We'll see, I guess.

The Denver-Miami game was played in 100 degree heat and 80% humidity. The score was 6-3 until Denver lost its top 3 CBs. Miami didn't really start scoring until Denver was forced to use their CB4 and their backup Safety at the two starting corner spots. I wouldn't take a whole lot from Denver's defensive performance against Miami. At least, not the second half of it. I think the first half was pretty indicitive of what to expect from Denver this season.Don't get me wrong. I'm high on McCardell, but you have to keep in mind 2 things. First, last week was played without Gates and was the first game of LT2's career that he didn't record a reception, and second, Denver's defense was seriously undermanned last week. I think I'm currently leaning towards Engram, since it's PPR and I think he's the guy most likely to get his receptions (I see McCardell losing a lot of his to Tomlinson and Gates).

Well I just picked up FWP, who gets a weak Houston D this week.Who to bench in a start 2 RB league (guppie - so I'm stacked) is a thread on it's own, but Edge, Dillon, or McAllister are getting the unexpected pine this week.

I think the Gates factor will only increase McCardell's value this week. Denver know's that the Chargers are dying to get Gates back in the line-up, and get him the ball. So, Denver will have him in double and triple coverage sometimes, taking him away, and that will free up space for McCardell to make plays (Similiar to how the Chargers played Witten last week, limiting him to 1 catch for 12yds). Just because LT2 didn't touch the ball last week, doesn't mean they'll purposely pass him the ball to increase his reception totals. Their goal is to have LT touch the ball, whether it's a rec or a rush, it really doesn't matter, he will get his yardage/td's regardless of how they get him the ball. I guess i'd rather start a WR that's #1 on the depth chart as opposed to Engram who's #2.

thinking about benching Dominick Davis against the Steelers and starting either

Larry Johnson or Warrick Dunn.
This is my exact dilemma as well. I keep going back and forth between DD and LJ. I also have Dunn sitting on my bench, who will probably remain there until the bye weeks for the starters.I break it down as follows: DD is the only option on a miserable Texans offense (double coverage takes Andre Johnson away). LJ is one of many options on an explosive KC offense.

I'm still stuck

help?

Can people please stop using initials for players that aren't known by their initials.

Never before has Brian Westbrook been called BW.

LJ is fine as it is widely known who that refers to.

People have only known about Willie Parker for a couple weeks now, he is not known by most as FWP.
 LJ: Larry Johnson or Lamont Jordan?

Denver is the best team in the league at neutralizing the TE. They really shut down Gonzo and Gates both last season. They've also got the fastest and most athletic LB corps in the league- arguably the best overall. I fail to see why we should be drawing the conclusion that they're going to make the same mistake this week that San Diego made last week- especially against a guy that they routinely shut down. 2 of Gates' 3 lowest yardage outputs last season came against Den, and he failed to record a TD. And McCardell? His lowest yardage output last season also came against Den, where he went 2/15/0.Bobby Engram is the #2 WR on the depth chart in Seattle. He's also the #2 receiving option on the team. McCardell is the #1 WR, sure, but he's the #3 receiving option. And Engram plays for a much better passing offense. Again, I'm reasonably high on McCardell, but I'm higher on Engram. Especially in PPR, where Engram is assured of getting his.

That's gonna take big ones, bro.I think you're making a mistake put any of those 3 down in favor of Parker. He's your 4th RB on that list, regardless of what he did last week.

:2cents:

3 of Westbrook, KJ, LJ or DD. 1 ppr. Thinking of benching DD. other league2 of Portis, Westbrook, Jax, or Tater. Thinking of benching Portis and Tater.

Can't decide who to drop. Battle, Fergie, Braylon Edwards or Engram. (keeper league)

I'm trying hard to decide between Dillon @ Car and Tiki at home against the Saints. Before Jenkins went down I think this would have been an easy one but now I just don't know.

For me, there's two decisions I'm deabting.

1. Starting Byron Leftwich over Daunte Culpepper. JAX vs. Indy, and CPep did struggle last week. Very tough to bench my stud, but Leftwich is a stud in his own, playing against a high octane O and a (IMO) still weak D.

2. Rod Smith over Matt Jones. I'm very tempted to go with Jones here, but just can't bench Rod Smith yet.

What's your issue?
I'm sorry, but I'm perplexed by #2. Didn't Rod Smith catch 7 for 90 in an otherwise pathetic offense? And didn't Matt Jones only catch 2 for 22 on what was a pretty big day for his QB? And isn't Rod Smith a top WR year after year? And isn't Matt Jones a rookie? Start Jones over Smith and you'll get what you deserve. For me, I have to decide in two leagues whether to start Leftwich over Favre. Ugh. I drafted Favre with the belief that he'd be a lock to start 16 games for me. Now I'm not so sure.
You are probably right. Rod is in the lineup right now, but dangit, I'm just expecting Jones to throw his welcome party this weekend.

I feel safe in saying both Priest and LJ will get 100 yards and a score. At least.
That's why I'm tempted to start both of them and bench Westbrook. But as sure as I do that... :wall:
There are very few guys I would play over Westbrook this week....and LJ sure aint one of them.

If dynasty, drop Engram. All the other guys are too young to give up on yet, especially Braylon. Dude was the #3 pick!

It says keepr league right in my post. :hey: Keep 4 and P. Manning, Kj & L. Jordan will be 3 of them.Drop Engram over Battle. I see Engram w/better stats at the end of the year in that Seattle offense. :nerd:

as of now, i'm starting Muhsin Muhammed instead of Ike Bruce - its a ppr league and it seems obvious Moose should be gathering 5-10 catches a week from Orton. Add in the occasional TD and I have a weekly starter! I'm also consider Dunn instead of S. Jackson

Rod Smith or Keenan Mccardle???

Talk about a coin toss!!!
NO BRAINER. Smith by a mile.Smith is the #1 receiving option on his team. McCardell is the #3 receiving option on his team. Smith has also been a much better fantasy receiver than McCardell.

Yeah, but Plummer's stinker vs. Miami really bothers me. I think both WR's are equal in terms of potential to score FF points. I'm leaning towards McCardle because he is the #1. Plummer seemed to target Lelie as much if not more than Smith.

Three things. Plummer's stinker wasn't his fault as much as his line's and his receivers. McCardell is the #3, not the #1. Plummer targeted Lelie more... but Lelie dropped a lot more, too.

Player Compare 3 Year Averages NFL Standard Stats Passing Rushing Receiving

McCardell, Keenan WR SD 0 0 0 0 0 39.6 1 2 2.0 0 59 748 12.7 5 1 154.8

Over the last 3 years Rod Smith averaged 179 FFpoints vs McCardle's 154

I'd say they are alot more comparable to one another than you would have us believe. Also, McCardle is the #1 WR. They do throw to the TE and the RB but who doesn't.

Don't forget McCardle was out for quite a few games last year too. Once you factor that in McCardle actually has the better stats over the last three years. Rod Smith missed only one game during that time frame.

thinking about doing the same thing. I hate to. I have started Culpepper in my main dynasty league since his 2nd year. If I bench him he will blow up.

Steven Jackson over Dunn, Caddy, LJ and DD. You better not #### this up Martz!!
Funny, in my 14 teamer, my distaste for Martz has me benching Jackson against a juicy Cards defense in favor of Caddy against the tought Bills D. Why?Because Caddy will get his share of carries, and can easily break one. I'm a Bills homer, but their D isn't as good as advertised IMO. Solid yes, great NO. As for Jackson, you just don't know if Martz will give him the carries to dominate.

The fact that the Bucs are my 2nd favorite team, AND I'm flying down to Tampa for the game this weekend may have played a part on my Caddy selection, but it's more Gruden's mancrush for the kid than anything else. Cadyy WILL get his carries.

My other back is Julius, and I drafted him because of Parcell's preference to give him loads of carries. He's got a tough matchup at home against the Skins. But I like the Cowboys this week, and like Caddy, Julius will get his carries regardless.

It's all about touches and targets in FF IMO. The more your guy touches the ball, the better chance he has to be successful.

I have to choose two between Ronnie Brown, M. Anderson, Taylor and Caddy.I'm leaning towards Taylor and Caddy. But if Anderson is indeed healthy I might look at replacing Caddy. I drafted him to be my #1... but against Buffalo? And man, Brown against the Jets. The Jets D did look weak last week. :loco:
