Who are you looking at as the stars of next season? (1 Viewer)

Aaahhh yes.... Hakeem Nicks. Good call whoever named him. He reminds me of Carl Pickens, glue hands up high, bodying up on DBs. Deceiving speed.

Who named David Garrard? Can we just let him fade into the background. He's the new Brian Griese, a guy who whipped out one good season when everything went his way, sneaky 100+ QB rating-- but he's destined to be a journeyman in his 30s. It ain't gonna happen guys.

I like LeSean McCoy too- with 250-270 touches he'll be a top value pick.

Double nice. Somehow ended up with him on 2 teams and he was great. Looking forward to him having another good year in 2011...Restart the thread for 2011?For the 2nd year S Greene looks to be in position to break out. LT showed his late season slide and Green SHOULD go into the year as the #1 (again).Whoever takes over for Hines Ward in Pitt opposite WallaceJames Jones (i think), the WR in GB. Could overtake Driver for #2

LOL...can we do this thread again so I know who not to key on? The amount of wrong touted in this thread is comical. Seriously, about 90% of the guys posted were busts.

Most significant breakout players are high draft picks who were previously held back by inexperience/opportunity. Steve Smith, Sidney Rice, and Ray Rice all fall into this category. Looking ahead to next year there are many players who could surprise. Some of the obvious candidates include:

Kevin Kolb

Mark Sanchez-

Matt Stafford

Beanie Wells

Donald Brown

LeSean McCoy - homerun

Shonn Greene

Tashard Choice

Andre Caldwell

Brandon Tate

Hakeem Nicks - home run

James Jones

Jeremy Maclin - yup

Kenny Britt - pass

Malcolm Kelly

Michael Crabtree

Mohamed Massaquoi

Percy Harvin - meh

I'm most optimistic about the players I've liked all along. That includes Nicks, Crabtree, Harvin, and Greene. All of them have every week starter potential as early as next season. I'm lukewarm on Wells and Brown, but they're probably both the best RBs on their team. McCoy could be great if Westbrook is jettisoned. James Jones and Andre Caldwell could fill in nicely for Donald Driver and TJ Houshmandzadeh.

I know right! EBF should have taken a page from your post in this...wait. Never mind.
Exactly. It is junk like that which should be ignored but it is annoying to see. EBF is one of the better posters and provides a lot of good content. Everyone who plays this game knows by now that there is no scientific way to determine the future. Give me a break. At least some are willing to put the time and effort in so the rest can enjoy reading about the hobby we most likely spend entirely too much time on. Well done to all that provide constructive insight.

3 sure fire stone cold locks for a breakout - Emmanuel Sanders, Felix Jones and Danario Alexander.
+1
Health may always be a problem for Alexander.I've had my eye on Sanders for a while. Every year it seems that the guys I target for next season get additional exposure in the play-offs. Watch Sanders go off in the SB and be on everyone's radar next fall.

Most of these types of threads will yield some valuable information. Usually you'll see something along the lines of a 50/50 hit rate. This thread stood out because almost every post was grossly wrong. The odds of so many people bringing up so many names that flamed out are really slim. Even the stars of the shark pool missed more often and by a wider margin which is head scratching. If this topic is done again, it might be wise to revisit the thought process to better identify the future Nicks and Wallaces. I disagree with your statement that there's no scientific way to determine the future. NFL scouts do it all the time. Are you suggesting we just throw names against a wall and see what sticks just to have reading material? I've argued that ff is more luck than most people think, but am not willing to conceded that it's all luck.

2010 was an odd fantasy year IMO. lots of injuries and underperformances of good players.Heck it seemd like there were only 5/6 RBs worth a damn and everyone else sucked.
