Who are you starting Vernon Davis over? (1 Viewer)

I was going to start Davis over Winslow but with the weather I decided to put Winslow back in there. If it seems the weather wont be that bad Ill put Davis back in

I'd ask you the same question. I too am starting Davis over Watson as I haven't heard, seen, read a single thing that would give me confidence that Watson is going to play this week. Conversely, all I've heard is that Watson is missing practice time and that the Pats have signed a free agent TE -- neither of which is a good sign. If Davis and Watson are an owner's only two choices, I think you HAVE to start Davis or risk taking a big fat bagel at the TE position this week.

I'm a Watson owner and Davis is taken in my league ...I have Steven's but I think I might pass on that...

 
was starting davis over cooley (we get 10pt bonus for TDs over 30-yards and davis just has a little more explosion upside, i think), but with bad weather might put cooley back in there, even though campbell/skins offense blows....waiting until gametime to decide, though.

and i'm in boston and all signs point to watson not playing. graham makes a nice pickup.

I'm in the same boat ... and cashed in nicely with Davis last week. However, with these hurricane like conditions threatining, AND with Chambers likely not playing on Sunday ... I actually like McMichael better this week.

Harrington is a "dink and dunk" kinda QB, prolly why Booker is so proficient since Joey took over. But with Chambers likely out, Booker draws Clements, thereby leaving McMichael (IMO) the best checkdown target (along with SMorris).

I'll be monitoring the weather, as per the norm for these Thursday games, but ... I think it's safest to sit Davis.

 
IMO Davis vs Winslow was a coinflip before this weather, the bad weather makes me lean towards Winslow. Also, I figure if Davis does bad today and I play him Ill be very upset. But if he does good, theres still a slight possibilty Winslow can do good so I wont be as mad :shrug:

Same situation. I've had VD all week, but I'm thinking its Randy time now. :shrug:

The problem is the Seahawks are playing fairly well right now. I think they get up on the 49ers early and the 49ers will need to chuck the rock. Davis should get allot of looks in garbage time if the Hawks are playing prevent. Add the fact that Davis is coming off a 70 yard game & Winslow is questionable make this very very tough. Here is the misdirection........I'm still starting Winslow. He has had a number of subpar games, he is due to go off....even if it's agains the Ravens.

I have Ravens D so I dont even care if Winslow gets in the endzone. Just would like to get some receptions since I get ppr for TEs. Going with Winslow, my mind is made up. Lets do this together fellas!

 
I can't put him in, saving the decision for Sunday (Watson, Sheffler or whatever the hell his name is). Too crazy a game to predict.

 
Sticking with Davis over McMichael.

My opinion is if Davis can catch just 3 balls tonight, with the bad weather he's likely to break one for a TD. McMichael just hasn't caught TDs all year long. Tough to make up those 6 points with my leagues rules.

This is exactly my thinking. Assuming he can get the ball (and catch it), I think he's more likely to score with his speed.

I dont think people who benched Davis (like myself) can beat themselves up about it. Yeah he caught a TD but that weather was wicked before the game and it completely cleared up. I had him in there until the weather so I think I did the right thing!

I picked him up to cover B. Watson, but got spooked by the weather reports. Could come back to bite me, but I don't feel it was a bad decision, even if the results aren't great.

I did the exact opposite. The weather scared me a bit, but BB and his use of the injury report scared me more.

He scored 10 in my PPR league, so it won't take anything real special for Winslow to match that. 10 points is usually what I hope for each week from my TE. I would be have been happy with Davis' performance had I stuck with him, but I can't say I'm real worried about it being a mistake that might cost me a win.
