I would have voted Crede but since A-Rod is the best player in baseball, I went with him. I have Morneau at 1B and Josh Hamilton instead of Drew but other than that, I like that list. I always vote twice, once in late May and once just before the ballot closes.

Hamilton instead of Drew is definitely acceptable, Drew has really played his way on the ballot for me in the last few weeks

NL:

C: Brian McCann

1B Lance Berkman (all do respects to Derek Lee)

2B Chase Utley (shouldn't even be close)

SS Jose Reyes (homer pick, Hanley Ramirez deserves some love)

3B Chipper Jones (as painful as it is to take him over Wright)

OF: Ryan Ludwick

OF: Nate McLouth (some surprises here in the outfield)

OF: Carlosn Beltran (homer pick)

SP: Edison Volquez

AL:

C: Joe Mauer (even though he hit on my gf)

1B: Justin Morneau (doofy dude)

2B: Ian Kinsler (BJ Upton doesn't qualify here I'm guessing)

SS: Michael Young (lotta Rangers making it)

3B: Alex Rodriguez

OF: Carlos Quentin

OF: Josh Hamilton (guy leads in like every category)

OF: Manny Ramirez

SP: Cliff Lee

Bradley is listed as an OF on the ballot. Pick another DH. And any of your OFers over Hamilton is laughable.

drew over quentin? if he doesnt start its a travashamockery
No kidding.JD Drew over Quentin.
It is not as if they are not fairly close in statsQuentin: .283 / .389 / .561 / .950Drew: .318 / .417 / .509 / .926That said, it was a slight homer nod to Drew...
HR 16 RBI 53 Runs 41 SB 4HR 8 RBI 32 Runs 41 SB 1You might want to consider these stats when you try to put JD Drew in the allstar game over Carlos Quentin also. :bye:It's not like there fairly close in stats.

You do realize that RBI is entirely dependent on the rest of the team, and not the individual player, right?

Quentin certainly has a decided edge in power, Drew has an edge in the ability to get on base. Obviously Quentin has outproduced him, but people are allowed to lean toward their home teams at least a bit in the all-star voting... I think the case is very strong for Drew as the 4th outfielder, it is not like it is a huge stretch to vote for him

Looks like ESPN updated their stats last night, in fact, and Drew has the higher OPS at the moment

Drew v Quentin is definitely close

Normally I would say the vet gets the place, but deserved or not, JD Drew has a rep as a coaster that is proving VERY hard to shake

I think Quentin gets it

i dont follow the red sox too closely and im too lazy to look up the stats, but is drew playing vs lefties? and is he only getting more time cuz ellsbury is out?edit to add that i had absolutely no homerism for quentin, im a cubs fan...ok drew has 25 at bats vs lefties this year. but he is hitting .320 against them...

:nerd: I missed the part where the White Sox had the better offense than the Red Sox.
That's precisely the point :lmao: It is since the Red Sox have such a good offense that Drew was not batting in the 3/4 slots (traditionally the RBI slots). He played 2/3rds of the season batting in the 6/7 slot. Quentin has predominantly been in the 3 slot all season

Another take on the RBI disparity -

Quentin OPS with runners on: 1.178. Without: 0.787

Now, is he just *really* clutch, or do you suppose he has gotten his hits in favorable spots?

For matter of comparison:

Drew OPS with runners on: 0.853. Without: 1.053

 So arent you basically saying Quentin performs better with RISP? I fail to see how this proves your point. Talk about twisting #s to prove some stupid point

Twisting?

A big reason that Quentin has more RBIs because he has performed better with RISP and hits from the 3 spot

Now, what you have to ask yourself is if he has a 'skill' of hitting well with RISP, or if this is noise from a small sample size. I will leave it to you to figure out which
