Who did you steal in your draft? (1 Viewer)

In your last draft who did you think was the best value pick you made. Pick one player from your most recent draft, give the round/position you drafted him and why you think it was a steal. I haven't had any of my drafts yet, but was hoping to use the information to get a jump on some good value sleepers.

QB Kurt Warner late round redrafting ( I draft several leagues )

RB Selvin Young I like this kids, 4th-5th rounds believe it or not

WR Cotchery any round you can get this guy and old man Bruce really late

TE Tamme Dynasty, Crumpler is a long shot short term

Defense Buffalo

In my 14 team PPR redraft I was happy with

6-8 (78) Kevin Smith Detroit. Starting back who will be serviceable flex.

8-8 (120) Derrick Mason. Caught 100 balls last year.

12-8 (162) Javon Walker. Still think he finishes the year 1000/6 or 1000/8.

In my 12 team Keep 3 (R.Moss, Lynch, McGahee) PPR

5-8 (58) Chris Chambers. Good 2nd WR. Good pick considering the draft starts after 3 keepers.

9-10 (106) Javon Walker. As above.

14-3 (159) DeSean Jackson. Think will be an excellent flex play towards end of season.

I had the #1 pick in a redraft with an ultimate flex position. Most teams start 2 QBs. I landed Edgerrin James in rnd 9. I was quite surprised he was there. Across the whole draft it seemed most owners were afraid of RBs in general. I have some nice RBs to compliment LT with so its going to be an interesting season. I picked up Torry Holt in the 5th which is another guy I felt that people were afraid of. From the overall draft it seems most were in favor of last years big hits and youth. Old timers seemed to drop greatly in the draft which could be nice for some owners.

Calvin Johnson in round 5 in more than one draft. A lot of people refuse to do early drafts because of injury and/or some other uncertainty, but there are some definite advantages. Calvin will not go past the mid 3rd from here forward.

LJ at 2.09

Cotchery in 6th

Witten in 7th...may be the biggest steal of my draft. Gates, Winslow, and Gonzo somehow went before him.

In a 4 man keeper, 14 team draft , where rookie RB's are a hot item I landed Mendenhall at 2.04. 26 RB's were already kept and another 8 went in front of him. Maybe not for this year but the potential was too great to pass up I thought.

Just got him in the 5th round last week as my WR2 and feel like I did it just before the hype machine had gotten really geared up.

I got Brandon Jacobs at pick 4.08 in my 12 team league and felt like that was really nice value, considering I had almost taken him the prior round.

14 team redraft yesterday (5th slot)

Meachem WR NO - 9th round (we will see about the actual value, but I like the upside)

Scheffler TE DEN - 13th round

jonathon stewart. rd 7 of keeper. may not be value to some, but in my league it is gold.
Yeah that's crazy value. How the heck did he fall that far...
honestly, i have no idea. We don't have a separate draft for Rookies. We throw them in with everyone. McFadden went 1.01 (after all keeps were declared) and then no rookie was taken until Stewart in 7th round. I am stoked. I was sure he'd go in the 2nd or 3rd round.

5th round, 67th overall for me. I drafted 2 weeks ago.

One man's value is another man's reach I guess. There's no way I could consider a WR that's not guaranteed to start a game this year a "steal" in round 9.

Bush 77th pick

Cotchery 84rd pick

Chambers 104th pick

...and my favorite

Warner 184th pick - SOD :bag: (Rodgers was my QB1)

We have a yearly $1000 salary cap for our dynasty system and hold an auction in early August for free agents.

Don't know if I stole them, but here are the more notable RB's I added to B.Westbrook and D.Williams already in my stable.

R.Grant for $91.00

S.Young for $56.00

E.Graham for $55.00

K.Jones for $7.00 (this could be huge in '09 and '10 as I can keep him for three seasons at this price)

Here are what some of the other notable free agent and rookie RB's went for this season...

J.Addai for $190.00

M.Barber for $181.00

L.Johnson for $165.00

*K.Smith for $163.91

*J.Stewart for $155.92

*R.Mendenhall for $147.93

*D.McFadden for $139.94

W.Parker for $139.00

C.Portis for $131.00

*M.Forte for $123.96

R.Bush for $123.00

R.Brown for $92.00

R.Johnson for $62.00

E.James for $62.00

* these rookie RB's were drafted in May with a predetermined value per slot based upon last year's RB contract prices. Smith through McFadden values were skewed as to the order they shoud have gone as one owner traded into those 4 spots.

I should have tried harder on Portis but I knew I could get good value later and needed to spread my money out on better RB3 and WR1 than I was carrying over from last season. Had I kept bidding, I think Portis would have gone for $170.00+.

Fred Taylor at 10.09 in a 12 team redraft league. 1200 yards rushing last year.

MJD at 3.04 in same league, which is also a PPR league.

That's pretty sweet value for the Jags running game and if Taylor goes down, MJD could produce like a top 5.

12 team redraft; I thought my value was really good this year:

Brandon Jacobs middle of 4th round

Cotchery 5th

Parker 6th

Hines Ward 7th

Schaub in 11th (took Palmer in 3rd)

10 Teamer

Portis @ 4.07 - I was upset letting him slide through round 3 after franchising Jackson & picking Gore.

Boldin @ 6.07 - Let him slide in round 5 because I took Fitz in the 3rd.

Of course I took Warner as my #3 QB to top it off. Looks like AZ has a new fan for this season.

Based on tonight Burleson in 13th as a 4th WR and Mo Morris in the last round wasn't too bad!

Warner as 3rd Qb behind Brees and Delhomme

Now if somehow I didn't pick any busts.......

14 team, 2 QB league.

JT O'Sullivan as my QB3 at 190 overall before he was named the starter.

He was QB36 of 42 QBs drafted.

Matt Ryan in the 22nd round of a 12 team best ball

Chris Perry in the 13th 10 team PPR redraft

Chris Perry for $1 in a 10 team PPR auction dynasty

Calvin Johnson in round 5 in more than one draft. A lot of people refuse to do early drafts because of injury and/or some other uncertainty, but there are some definite advantages. Calvin will not go past the mid 3rd from here forward.
What did I miss? Did Det get good today or was it further analysis of the 2-16 performance last weekend?
