Who did you wind up with that you targeted? (1 Viewer)

Done with three leagues… one auction, one redraft and one keeper (up to 4). Observations:

Note… I’m not drinking the RB/RB Koolaid this year. More so than a few years past, the “gotta draft RB’s” consensus is altering drafts. If you buy into it, then you’ll wind up with two of the top 20 RB’s or so. If you deviate, all you have to do is hit later and the delta is huge. For the record, I realize most of you will disagree, but take into consideration waiting on a RB pretty much knowing what will fall to you in round 3 and 4 is the plan. I wound up with Gore/MJD after going TE/WR in the redraft and I’m pretty stoked about it (drafted a few weeks ago).

Jimmy Graham on all three teams. I paid dearly at auction ($43 out of $200), and took him 1:12, or 2:01, (kept him in the keeper) but he’s clearly IMO head and shoulders above the pack and will serve as a #1 WR.

Andrew Luck. Big on Luck this year and fairly cheap… on two teams.

Vick. On two teams. Risk vs. reward is a big value here.

E. Manning. Very cheap and will serve as a QBBC when the matchup is right. Big value here IMO, as he’s not a AYSYS kind of QB, but can throw the deep ball and comes on the cheap.

DeAndre Hopkins on two teams. I love the potential here for the price.

MJD on two teams. Contract year and motivated.

Michael Bush on two teams. Cheap and will be a good RB fill on byes. If Forte gets hurt, big numbers.

Denver D on two teams. Von comes back after 6 and Holliday is a threat to run them back for scores. As a pseudo-homer I love the Denver D this year, especially when it really counts.

Observations:

Auction – Things went pretty much like you thought they would. I typically pass on the big names early and let others blow their wad, but no one seemed to reach. I had money in the middle, but it didn’t work out… worst team for sure. Hindsight is always 20/20… oh well, I’ll have to rely on Luck.

Overall -

The Gronk Koolaid is strong and I still don’t understand it. Went for $25 in the auction and way too high in the others. I just don’t see how anyone expects him to bounce back so quickly.

QB’s can be had later, but you need to stock up on a few of them.

J. Cook is either going too high or too low.

The Denver RB’s not named Moreno are going too high IMO.

All-in-all, the internet has ruined FF. Research doesn’t mean much these days with the box telling you who you should pick and when. Reaching for a player pretty much has to come two rounds early if you really want him

So true... the only real value comes during the season through the waiver wire. Felt like I was drafting against 15 people all plugged into rotoworld via a feed tube.

Brees, Watt, Laurinaitis and Morgan Burnett from my studs list. As for guys I got later based on targeting pre-draft - Ryan Broyles and TJ McDonald. The other 18 picks were reactionary.
