Who Do You Use For Car Insurance? (1 Viewer)

USAA

Agree with all the positive sentiment. They are awesome.
Tantamount to saying In N Out Burgers are awesome since many of us can't use them
If you really loved your country or were related to someone that did you'd be in. Commie.
:lmao: Does my wife's uncle get me in since he served?
Who is eligible?
  • Active, retired and honorably separated officers and enlisted personnel of the U.S. military.
  • Officer candidates in commissioning programs (Academy, ROTC, OCS/OTS).
  • Adult children whose eligible parents have or had a USAA auto or property insurance product.1
  • Widows and widowers of USAA members who have or had a USAA auto or property insurance policy.
Sounds like you missed out.

Liberty Mutual. Just switched from Progressive and reduced my monthly payment by 33% for the exact same coverage.
I switched from Nationwide to Liberty Mutual in January. Saved 25% on Auto but apparently Nationwide was giving me a great deal on home ins because nobody could match that. You pretty much have to get both with 1 company to save money and by going to Liberty for both it was almost a wash. But homeowners is spread out with the escrow account and Auto is a monthly bill I wanted lower so I went with it. Also wasn't that thrilled with Nationwide recently.

When I had car insurance, I used USAA. Working with various body shops, State Farm is the dominant player with over 20% share in Southern California. I'm guessing they have to be fairly price competitive.

I still use USAA for other various banking and insurance needs.

State Farm--4 cars--3 have full coverage and my 69 mustang just has the classic insurance coverage, but we pay about $185.00 a month.

Maybe could find cheaper, but we have been with them over 20 years and the very few times we have needed them, they have taken care of us. One sad part, our agent we have had all these years suddenly died. He lived quite the life to include he was one of the guys who went into the water to recover two of the Apollo capsules.

At least he had life insurance (one would assume).

So a young lady that works with us was getting auto insurance through USAA. She needed to change it because she was going to be moving from SC to NC. They wanted 280 a month. I had to her take the policy to my Progressive agent. His price was 120 a month. He was also cheaper for the same renters coverage. Saved her a lot of money by looking around. Not sure why USAA was more unless they were picking up something Progressive didn't. But the agent knew about her tickets and stuff I heard her tell him. So not sure what the issue was.
