First guy I thought of was Fred Taylor without the breakaway gear.EBF said:He's a taller back who makes quick cuts.
The closest thing I can think of is Peterson with less burst and speed.

People should not underestimate how mediocre/bad the Bears O-line is.... I think Forte is doing quite well given the talent/lack thereof that surrounds him.
Living in the Chicago area and hearing coaches gush over this guy's talent made me want to select Forte early but I just couldn't pull the trigger after watching the Bear's offensive line last season. On top of that they lost their top receiver and basically replaced him with Hester who I doubt will ever become a solid #1 or #2 receiver. I figured that Forte would be facing 8 man fronts every single game. The other problem with the Bears was that most people weren't expecting Orton to be as solid as he has or even wondered whether Grossman was brought back and promised the starting QB position. Brandon Lloyd leaked that Grossman was going to be the starting QB when he signed with the Bears which was obviously incorrect information. I think people that diss this guy are missing the boat on him because he is a solid RB with deceptive quickness and, as someone mentioned, incredible hands for a RB. How often do people hear about rookie RBs not being in the game on 3rd down because they don't understand how to stay back in pass protection. This guy was a 3 down back from the start and, IMHO, without him the Bears would probably be a 3 win team this year.A lot of people in the Chicago media like to compare him to Marcus Allen. Obviously it is too soon to see whether this guy will be that good and if they keep using him as much as they do Forte will not have a long NFL career.I posted this in my '09 Dynasty ranks back in October when I ranked Forte as the 10th overall RB. I can't see how anyone would still harbor doubts about this kid. He is a fantastic football player and a dynamite RB, which are not necessarily the same. But the thing that makes the first statement (fantastic football player) so important is that by being such a fantastic football player makes him a fantasy star.....His understanding of the game makes him the complete package, pass pro, route running, reading blocks, etc, combined with his great talent, yes great (the instincts, feet, cutback ability, hands, and burst are top notch). I have no doubt that Forte will be a force in the league for years to come. When Chicago gets better around him, he becomes even more valuable as less wear and tear will result and the touches will become more productive (yardage wise) as defenses will have to give him a bit more room to operate if/when more weapons are on the field for the Bears. If you don't take this guy in the Top 10 of any (reasonable) dynasty format, you'd have to be blind or in serious denial at this point. There simply aren't 9 better options out there right now, so don't fool yourselves......Be late to the party all you want and the believers will enjoy a nice edge over you out of the gate for your tardiness.....10. Matt Forte RB 6’1” 220 Bears
Surprise! Maybe for some, but the reality of the situation is that Forte is a big-time producer. Off to a great start to his career, I do not see what he is doing as a fluke, the cat is for real! Blessed with great vision and elite feet, this guy has a very nice package of speed, power, instincts (especially his natural-looking cutback ability), and receiving skill to become, dare I say, great…Too many pundits are attempting to slight this guy based on some (false) rhetoric about Forte not being talented. He reminds me a lot of Marcus Allen. Don’t believe the haters, this kid is “The Postmaster”…goods and services gov’t certified
I seem to recall Robert Smith being faster.robert smith
Way faster. The Marcus Allen comp is the best so far.I seem to recall Robert Smith being faster.robert smith
Those guys had pretty good careers relative to the average NFL tailback. A-Train was a ROY winner and a two-time 1,000 yard rusher. Bennett, Brown, and Fargas have all had a 1,000 yard rushing season. Foster eclipsed the 850 yard three times for the Panthers. We think of these guys as mediocre players now that they're mostly playing supporting roles, but they all had their moments. Many of them were high dynasty picks at one point or another in their careers. The FF community has a tendency to get overly excited about young players who show promise. We've seen it in recent years with guys like Julius Jones, Kevin Jones, Cadillac Williams, Anthony Thomas, Lee Suggs, Laurence Maroney, and Chris Brown. All of them were gushed over and anointed as the next great thing. Is Forte the next in a long line of overhyped youngsters or is he another legitimate starting caliber talent like Lynch and ADP? There's no way to know for sure. We've seen guys burst onto the scene like this and then fizzle. That's why I tend to err towards skepticism unless I'm totally sold on someone. Forte is gradually earning my respect, but I wouldn't pick him with a top 10 dynasty pick yet. And if you're going to stalk me and give me grief for my comments about Forte, you might as well do the same for every other poster who doubted him. I had Forte at RB6 in my final rookie rankings, which is exactly where the NFL scouts had him (he was the 6th RB drafted). He slipped to 1.04-1.06 in most of my drafts and I don't recall many people saying they would've picked him in the top 3. Lots of people missed the boat on him. In fact, most people missed the boat on him. It's easy to play psychic in hindsight. Those of us who offer our opinions to the public expose ourselves to a certain amount of ridicule when we're wrong. That's just part of the hobby. I just try to learn from mistakes and do better the next time out.Wow, thats a long way from these guys:EBF said:He's a taller back who makes quick cuts. I don't see one.
BS does pretty much nothing BUT stalk around these parts, he should be permanently banned to the FFA where his kind belong. Can't think of anyone off the top of my head but this seems about right to me.Dorsey Levens? big/tall slashing runner with good hands and feet

This from the only guy more biased than EBF.I 3rd the motion. Robert Smith. Maybe due to skin color?I seem to recall Robert Smith being faster.robert smith
i was going to say this!DUCE STALEY!
Not bad - but if your going to take credit, can I see 1-9?I posted this in my '09 Dynasty ranks back in October when I ranked Forte as the 10th overall RB. SLASHINGHis running style reminded me of Orenthal James Simpson. Disclaimer: This is not a comparison in ability, just the style of running that Forte brought to mind.
Body type is all wrong.i was going to say this!DUCE STALEY!
dude you didn't even have Chris Johnson on your radar in your initial rankings. In fact, this site as a whole kinda missed the boat on him. I was pulling for him in the rookie rankings thread way back whenThe gap between Chris Brown and "Adrian Peterson with less burst and speed" really isn't that huge. For what it's worth, Brown also had a sensational first year as a starter. You are the only one who went from comparing him to Chris Brown to Adrian Peterson.
Everyone knows that I rip on McFadden indiscriminately. You just happened to take it personally, so now you haunt my posts and constantly bring up Mendenhall, BMI, etc.Funny you mention stalking, i cant say anything positive about Mcfadden without you bumping it after he has a bad game or gets hurt.Anyone who ranks rookies is going to have his fair share of hits and misses. It's easy to play hindsight psychic, but I watched Chris Johnson, Matt Forte, and Steve Slaton fall in a lot of my drafts. None of them went higher than 1.04 in any of my leagues, so if you're going to criticize me for being high on guys like Mendenhall, Felix, and Stewart then you might as well criticize the entire FF community (and the front offices of the Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys, and Pittsburgh Steelers). We obviously judge talent differently. I prefer Slaton, Forte, Mcfadden and CJ over Mendenhall and Rice despite their BMI's, you feel differently, lets leave it at that.
ding ding ding, we have a winnercan't believe there is only 3 of us, that's all I see when I watch FortePre-injury Deuce McAllister. He's a taller back who makes quick cuts. The closest thing I can think of is Peterson with less burst and speed.
