Although opinions may differ I do think the 04 and 05 classes offer the better class of rb's, Never know with the 06 class though.

2001 and 2003 by far are the best. It's a little early to see what will happen with everyone else.

What's the criteria? NFL success or draft position? There's some missing RBs that have been arguably as good as a quarter of those on your list.

1999

* Olandis Gary

* Kevin Faulk

2000

* Mike Anderson

2001

* Buckhalter

2002

* Chester Taylor

* Crapper Davenport

2003

* Quentin Griffin

I'd take 2001 or 2003 at the moment but I think it's too soon to tell w/ 04 & 05.

:goodposting: I agree. 2001 followed closely by 2003

2000 and 2001 aren't too shabby. I do see as you went back your list seemed to get shorter and shorter. The 2004 class has the potential to be very good and the 2005 class could be the best of them all but we'll have to take a wait and see approach. Too early to tell.

I'd go with 2001 so far, hard to beat LT, Deuce, Jordan and Rudi, 2003 has the potential to be better. But 2006 looks better than 05 or 04.

Going back a little further:

1997 looks very good

1 12 Warrick Dunn RB Florida State

1 23 Antowain Smith RB Houston

2 36 Tiki Barber RB Virginia

2 43 Corey Dillon RB Washington

3 71 Duce Staley RB South Carolina

Looking at draft slot, I highly doubt we ever rival 1987 or 1982:

1982 -

1 7 Darrin Nelson RB Stanford

1 9 Gerald Riggs RB Arizona State

1 10 Marcus Allen RB Southern California

1 12 Walter Abercrombie RB Baylor

1 14 Barry Redden RB Ripon

1 18 Butch Woolfolk RB Michigan

1 21 Gerald Willhite RB San Jose State

1987 -

1 3 Alonzo Highsmith RB Miami

1 4 Brent Fullwood RB Auburn

1 14 D.J. Dozier RB Penn State

1 19 Paul Palmer RB Temple

1 21 Roger Vick RB Texas A&M

1 24 Rod Bernstine RB Texas A&M

1 25 Terrence Flagler RB Clemson

What a horrible crop of RBs ... "Boo Boo" Palmer ... :lmao:

I've never heard that 06 is supposed to be anything special (Bush aside).

2005 was supposedly one of the best in years. :shrug:

I still love the depth of 05, but I would take this year's top 6 over last year's top 6.
NFL or FF? In FF terms, you would take ANY of the top 6 from 06's over ALL of the top 6 of 05's? You would draft Maroney, Addai and Drew before you draft R. Brown or C. Williams? This may deserve its own thread!

It would, if that's what Bloom actually said. It isn't.

Last year they were saying that D.Williams would likely be up with Ronnie and Caddy rivaling for the top RB spot. This year he's the #2 back and argualy the #3.

This is a tough question. Hind sight is 20/20 so youve got to think 2001 was the best. But I think if you look at this from the perspective of which draft class had the best College RB's. Forget what they have done since joining the NFL. In that case I would go with the 2005 class.
