From my observation, Mike Anderson would be the starting RB and Musa Smith would continue to be the 3rd down/COP back.I am hoping that the combination of Lewis's #####ing about not getting the ball 25 times a game and Billick going back to calling the plays, Lewis will get the ball 25-30 times a game. Here is a statement Lewis made last week:Mike Preston, of the Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens RB Jamal Lewis feels he needs to have more carries in order to be an effective runner. Lewis has only surpassed 20 carries once this season. "I'm not a 13- to 15-carry back. You know that, I know that and the Ravens know that," Lewis said. "I'm the type of back that has to carry the ball about 25 to 30 times a game. In the past, we had a big offensive line and they liked to lean on people. We would pound the ball for 2 or 3 yards a carry in the first half, but then those runs would turn into 5 and 6 yards in the third quarter. By the fourth, you're wearing teams down and that's when you can hit a 30- or 60-yarder… That's how we got to the Super Bowl in my first year. People are asking, 'Where is the old Jamal?' He's out there, just not getting into the flow."
Anderson was originally signed to start, as the team had no idea how healthy Musa was...
Smith has since moved ahead on the depth chart, but I don't think that means he starts if something happens to Lewis...I just have to believe Mike Anderson gets the call if something happens to Lewis

Fassel's firing would seem to have some bearing on who the number 2 would be now. But would it have anything to do with how many carries that Smith and Anderson see in a RBBC rotation?
You think Billick fired Fassel for not getting Jamal enough carries? Billick has said himself that he's going to ride the "hot hand". The notion that Fassel is fired because Jamal and his nice 3.2 ypc aren't getting the rock enough is ridiculous.
one must have been sleeping under a rock to not know that Billick has always been a J Lewis man. Maybe it pushed him a little too far when Jamal had a 17 yard carry and was taken out afterwards, that's why Fassal was fired. If it is said Billick wants to go with the hot hand, then I don't know what elso Jamal has to do. IMO, Jamal will see around 20-25 carries a game for the next few games to see if he can be the Jamal of old. If not, then I would look to Musa for the rest of the season until they bring somebody via the draft or free agency next year.
