Who is addais backup? (1 Viewer)

"DD" Dorsey, how good he is is highly debatable (IMO not good enough), and if he remains the RB2 for the Colts, I wouldn't expect too much stealing of carries (a little is inevitable), despite the coachspeak otherwise.

Edit: look for them to consider another backup pending the Aug cuts, but I still suspect they will stick w/Dorsey.

Isn't Mungro the back up? i know he played a little fullback last year, but he does hold the PA all time rushing record.

Rushing attempts by the Colts under Dungy:

Code:
YEAR TOT RB1 RB2 NOTES2002 434 277 97 Edge missed 2 games2003 453 310 48 Edge missed 3 games2004 427 334 53 Edge missed 0 games2005 465 360 40 Edge missed 1 game2006 439 226 187 Addai - Rhodes
In TB, the carries between Dunn and Alstott had a similar look to last year with Addai and Rhodes. So, there seems to be one philosophy with a possible future HOFer (Edge) in the backfield and a different one with a couple good RBs available.

They have a bunch of unkowns and 4th stringers battling in camp for the job . . . should be interesting . . .

They mey add a guy, but and such acquisition would be hard pressed to be any factor this year . . . It will difficult enough for Dorsey and Keith to pick up the nuances of the offense . . .

I like Mungro to be the backup, he's been there for years, and he knows the system . . .

Dorsey has been with the team a year, Im sure he has at least some of the offense down.

Mungro is long gone and nothing to speak of anyway. Some ex-CFL stud named Keith (last name) is the only other RB they have. Polian = genius.

Mungro is currently unsigned, although they did work him out last month . . .Kenton Keith is the guy you are referring to . . .I'm curious as to why they didn't draft a back in the middle or lower rounds . . .

Im telling you guys, they like Dorsey more than you think. They snatched him up after Cincy tried to sneak him onto the practice squad after a terrific preseason (20 for 149 and 3 catches for 80ish yards). They kept him on the 53 man roster all season so that he wouldn't be exposed. I have a strong feeling that they think he can contribute.

 I think Dorsey is DEFINITELY the backup.

oh it's no secret they like him. Jury is out but him as RB2 makes me nervous.

A longshot to make it is Clifton Dawson, an undrafted rookie from Harvard . . .

yes, Ivy league backs rarely make the jump to the NFL, he owns a boatload of conference records, and he transferred from Northwestern after one year . . . he's bigger (210) than Keith (196) or Dorsey (192) and he's intelligent enough to pick up the offense fairly quickly . . .

he was also signed immediately after the draft was concluded, and he spoke to Coach Dungy for thirty minutes during the Draft

I have also read where's he's a great blocker, which is essesntial when you're in the same backfield with manning . . .

before you write off Dawson, remember that the last Colts RB undrafted free agent to rumble for 1100 yards was Dominic Rhodes in 2001 . . .

I scouted Dawson at the Texas vs the Nation game. He's small, tough back, and should have a decent shot to make the team because he's an excellent special teamer. He doesnt have a great burst or shiftiness, but he gets the most out of his physical talents. There are a lot of undrafted backs from this year I would be more excited about on Indy's roster, but Dawson is an overachiever, so he could surprise.
