Who is in the draft "driver's seat"? Miami, New York or someone else? (1 Viewer)

Been doing a few mocks these days and I'm a dolphin fan.  This draft is so Top heavy with QBs and Sewell that In some of the mocks, the teams who don't need a QB seem to be in the driver's seat here. (you can argue if Miami needs a QB or not, but I'm assuming they will not use their #3 pick on a QB unless it is to acquire Watson, and I'm not even sure of that).

Now, many say the jets are in the same boat as Miami bc they have Darnold, so taking a QB at 2 vs. just staying with Darnold could be an option. (i'm not sure what the consensus is on Darnold in New York.  As a Dolphin fan I can tell that Gase was the problem, but every New Coach wants the QB to be their guy)

Figure the best non QB in this draft is Sewell, and both Miami and New York could take him but you figure the Bengals really want him. Then you have the 3 WRs (Chase, Smith, and Wadell) that if the phins moved down to 8 they could get whichever falls.  Then there is Parsons and a few corners.

So, with all that said, Where do you think the drama starts in the draft?  pick 2, 3, or somewhere else?

I still think its the Jets, assuming they dont swing a deal for Watson.

It would take someone who is VERY confident in their talent evaluation AND development skills to look at Darnold's body of work (which quite frankly, sucks, no matter who his coach has been) and think that he can be fixed.  If Salah and Lafleur are those guys and Douglas is on board, the Jets will have a big trade down opportunity.

If the Texans somehow end up trading Watson for some combo of Tua, the 3, and other picks; it seems very likely they would be looking to trade down out of 3 to pick up even more picks. They don’t need an OT and would the 3rd best QB be much of a certain upgrade over Tua? Texans could trade back, pick up more picks and then grab the best remaining WR on the board or BPA defender.

Stranger things have happened but I don’t think Watson would agree to go to the Jets. Outside of stuff like state income tax, sun vs cold, etc. I think it would mainly come down to the cupboard is much more bare in terms of supporting cast team-wise than vs Miami right now.
