Karim or Jennings...discuss
MJD did not practice again today and his hand was heavily wrapped. Also swelling was reported. He will probably be a go for Monday night, but I would not be surprised if he see an even split with Deji. Karim did get 15 touches this past Sunday also.Where are you seeing this RBBC info?
That's true. Deji probably would have scored more times than that. I mean, there's nothing in MJD's history that should possibly lead us to believe that he's a better-than-average TD scorer or anything...coltsnut said:as an MJD owner, I picked up Karim and dropped Jennings, FWIW. In addition, I would prefer MJD be OUT and Karim be in, at this point....2 tds in 5 weeks...come on.
Limited for Jennings and MJD did not practice. Although, MJD is expected to start Monday. I would think Karim will be the #2 this week again.Did Jennings practice this week?
The hell with history....what have you done for me lately. He looks slow this year, and I think the JAGS are throwing in the redzone more than usual (see Garrards numbers lately) because MJD isn't getting it done. Karim looked much more explosive than MJD, IMO.That's true. Deji probably would have scored more times than that. The jags were running the clock outHey, just looking at the stats, Jennings had 8 receptions in the 4 games he played before the shoulder injury. Karim had good yardage but no catches last week in mop up duty. The more I think about it, the more this looks like the New Orleans situation - Betts and Ivory all over again. Neither option is great, but Jennings in PPR, and Karim in non. Especially since Jennings is practicing, albeit limited.
Based on what?Karim looked good against the Bills last week, but Jennings has a 5.0 average over his two years and is ahead in pass-protection. He's also a more powerful runner. If MJD were out and Jennings and Karim were both healthy, I'm pretty sure you'd be looking at full RBBC.Deji is the handcuff.
So? I think most are just looking for that 10-15 points out of their RB2-3 if something went down. Seems like he'd get that most weeks in a split.Based on what?Karim looked good against the Bills last week, but Jennings has a 5.0 average over his two years and is ahead in pass-protection. How about 5 to 7 points for Karim for the yardage, no catches because Jennings is in for passing downs, and vulturing TD's as well. Jennings is the big boy here - 6' 1", 225 lbs to Karim's 5'8" and 205 so look for him on 3rd downs and goal line. So? Maurie Jones-Drew is 5'8" and 205 pounds, too. Are the Jags going to pull him at the goal line for Jennings, too? It's very possible that Jennings would be the GL back over Karim, but I'd need to see something a little bit more official to that effect than simply listing their height and weight... especially when Karim's height and weight is identical to the second best TD-scoring RB in the entire NFL over the last 4 seasons (and, not coincidentally, the guy he's backing up).How about 5 to 7 points for Karim for the yardage, no catches because Jennings is in for passing downs, and vulturing TD's as well. Absolutely not. That's my point... Karim is no MJD. The hypothetical here is, what would happen if MJD went down. Full blown RBBC.Maurie Jones-Drew is 5'8" and 205 pounds, too. Are the Jags going to pull him at the goal line for Jennings, too?
The Florida Times UnionLooks like Karim is going to get the back up role again on Monday night, and MJD is ready to roll. He is overdue for a huge game. Full disclosure - I have all 3 on my FFPC team.Running back Maurice Jones-Drew, whose right hand and wrist were swollen Thursday after a sprain Sunday, participated fully in practice Friday.
Running back Rashad Jennings and safety Sean Considine were both limited in practice.
I loooove this attitude, since it has helped me snap up plenty of studs from trading with impatient owners. The hell with history....what have you done for me lately. With Jennings probable there goes my sneaky pick of the week with Deji!Jennings is officially probable for the Monday night game, same as MJD.
Injury Report
The backup picture should get a little clearer on Monday night, hopefully.
See if Jennings is active first, but it sure looks likely. Rumor has it that Deji's role on special teams will be expanded to include not only kick returns but also punts.
